finishing gen eds this semester and have been place on the waiting list (2-4 years) in the radiography program....i need a 2nd degree program so i don't have to start paying student loans during my wait......so there's only 4 other health related one year programs i'm considering.....pros and cons for each please or suggestions:

cna
med lab tech
phlebotomy

Phlebotomy is drawing blood right? I would take the easiest one just to get by so i didnt have to start paying back my student loans. How long do you get until you have to start paying them back, my wife only had 6 months so i was curious if it chaged and you now have a year?

6 months is all....before they start....there's more to phlebotomy than just drawing blood though....some of it will translate into radiography so that's why i'm considering it...plus i can start working in health related area with phlebotomy....a buddy of mine is in the nursing program and is a cna...he told me phlebotomy jobs pay the best out of the 4 minor programs i have a choice of

Lab tech is populated by mostly women so it's lower pay in most regions but you can get a job almost anywhere if you do your ASCP boards. Phlebotomy you can also do anywhere but it pays less and you run the chance of needle sticks with people you draw with blood borne disease. The others I have worked with but really cant advise. I'm guessing you have a 2 year degree. If you had a 4 year degree might consider an MBA or a masters in education.

it's kinda a 3.5 yr program....gen eds one year and then 2.5 years for the core clinicals.....(along with a 2-4 year waiting period after petitioning for clinical start date),....it equates to only an associate in science-radiography.....i'm somewhat pondering the idea of going to a 4 year school and getting a Bachelors of science in radiology instead....

I wouldn't want to do the CNA thing.. but if you like wiping ass it wouln't be bad.. I think the pay for a cna sucks for wat they have to do ...

Id go w phebotomy bro. Theyre are always ads for jobs in our hospital and its something to easily fall back on
