(Newser) – Let’s put a stop to the controversy of steroids in sports right now—by making doping legal. “I see nothing unjust or wrong about professional athletes using chemical compounds and medical knowledge to improve their abilities and performance,” writes Kyle Munkittrick on Discover. “Let me rephrase that: there is nothing wrong with taking steroids.” Munkittrick agrees with cyclist Floyd Landis—who recently argued for legalization because, in essence, everyone’s doing it—but not for the same reasons.

When professional athletes use steroids, they don’t do it alone, in a dark basement, after getting the doping gear “from a shady fella who hangs out at the track after midnight.” It’s done as safely as possible, under the supervision of doctors, trainers, and nutritionist. Yes, “steroids are dangerous. But so are thousands of other prescription drugs for which we require doctor supervision,” Munkittrick concludes. “Let’s stop pretending that most professional athletes 1) aren’t doping and 2) that they aren’t under strict supervision when they do. Let em take ‘roids.”

lol never happen, this country is retarded and rather sink than legalize some things so money doesnt keep flowing out of the country never to return

i see no difference between anabolics and drugs like botox. both are used clinically as treatments for certain issues. however the majority of the use is cosmetic. if its legal to inject botox into your face so your wrinkles go away, why cant you inject something into your thigh to make your muscles larger and more defined???

True, this countrys way too stuck on stupid to do anything that makes sense, Look at weed as example. What our lawmakers dont realize is that the fact AAS are illegal intrigues people even more. Its now the forbidden fruit. People are perverse in that way. Wanna see the entire nieghborhood become obsessed with your swimming pool? Build a fence around it and post a KEEP OUT sign.

I could'nt agree more! It's been proven time and time again that when they're used properly in a controlled environment that steriods work! The possible negative side effect can easily be controlled and the benefits certainly out way any potentional minor sides especially when administered by a doctor.

I just wish more people would speak out in favor of steroids. Instead of acting ashamed that they used them, I wish Hulk, Arnold, Lou, and Sly would say, "I used them for X number of years and I'm 60 years old now and I'm still doing fine."

The pharmaceutical companies have to much to lose! Especially now they are pushing their "Do you have low T" commercials. Lol. God forbid they say the word Testosterone in their commercial, NO they want to bundle it up in a nice little phrase with the word T rather then say Testosterone in the commercial , this low t commercial is on tv now as much as that fucking erectile dysfunction commercial for cialis and Viagra

So now that they are pushing pharmaceutical grade testosterone and selling sarms theirs no way it will ever get legalized now cause big pharma has a Literal Strangle Hold on Congress. Wishful thinking

Presser you are spot on. The phrase "low T" is a marketing whore developed by someone with no medical knowledge. only the knowledge of how to make it more appealing....
