I had weened effexor off for 4 months and took 150mgs of wellbutrin the last week to help with withdrawals from the effexor. Misery is all I can say. My head was killing me from the effexor withdrawals but then the wellbutrin apparently made my bp go up and I "heard" my heartbeat for about 3 days. Thats actually why I haven't been on much the last two or three days. Staring at the screen made my head feel like it was going to pop. Its been several years since Ive been off of all antidepressants so we will see how it goes.

I understand it is personal, but I really can't help but wonder why you want to get off of them if you have what sounds like clinical depression evidenced by your usage for several years. I kept my depression hidden for years before it was finally too much for me to take. I am on a very small dose of Celexa along with Valium and its incredible to "feel" like normal people do. I've come to terms with my condition as my entire fathers side of the family has mental health issues far worse than mine. There is very little known about mental conditions so its a hit or miss proposition. I've heard bad things about effexor and prozac. Have you thought about trying a different one. I wish my condition had been diagnosed 15 years ago. I'll never stop my meds.

When I was put on the meds I was working two jobs and in school full time. I was having major anxiety issues. This is a trial thing and by the way I don't have a problem with using anti depressants either. There are side effects with all of them and effexor had taken my sex drive way down. I tried wellbutrin and it jacked my bp. I am giving it a shot to see if my anxiety is gone. If I have issues, lexapro is my next option. Honestly sex drive was always the issues. Zoloft killed it, prozac, and effexor. My wife is on celexa and it has been great for her. I still have a scrip for xanax for acute problems.

damn JT sorry to hear its been hell getting off them bro! I honestly Hope you get past it soon and start feeling much better bro, I know how anxiety goes, dibilitating anxiety! its no joke, I sometimes get such bad bouts of anxiety its hard to breath , like i cant catch my breath, its wierd

Wow... it really sucks to feel like a stranger in your own body and not have control over that stuff. I hope you find the right balance and feel better soon!!

JT how is it going bro? you been off them a while now or should have been unless it was so bad you had to go back on? I also know ur dealing with other family health issues, so I TRUELY hope you can keep your head above water brutha! I know sometimes i feel like im drowning for sure!

I ended up on lexapro because my sides were so horrible. I was having migraines and staying dizzy, sweating profusely, and then the panic attacks started. I heard my heartbeat for about 2 days straight. I got on lexapro at 20 mgs and today is the first day I feel decent.

I should have said this before but panic attacks are freaking horrible. Presser I have gone to the er twice for them and literally could not breathe and my o2 stats dropped. To tell the truth I overdosed on caffeine when I was around 19 and thought I was gonna die. That was before energy drinks and I took 6 no doze after being up smoking dope and drinking two days straight. My heart was beating close to 200 beats a minute and i blacked out partially. After that it was about two weeks and I started having them. May be that was coincidence but it could have also been the other drugs I was taking around those times as well.

good to hear your feeling better though bro. Im a big advocate of lexapro ive been on 10 mg's of it for a couple years now, its just enough to balance me out completely. Ive been to the ER twice for panic attacks too lol i didnt know what the fuck it was i thought i was dying and once i thought i was allergic to something and my throat was closing. I had a clen overdose like you on the caffeine once too. A mislabled bottle of nolva was clen, i took about 1.5cc's of it and had to go to the ER to take a bunch of coke addict drugs to get my HR and everything down .It was a terrible experience. To this day i still take about half a cc of all my ancillaries before i go into a full dose just because im paranoid about it again.

tried them all lexapro welbutrin effexor pristiq (effoxor newer version) Honestly the antidepressants did crap for my general anxiety I been using welbutrin and effexor (pristiq) for years and had decided to come off myself not too long ago. I didn't notice it but overtime they make you feel numb like a zombie you can't feel pain or pleasure it somehow allows you to hum around neutral. Honestly I wish you success, in my experience nothing beats up anxiety like a good restful sleep, favorite music and good company also helps.
