Major fail!!!!

So I was doing arms tonite and was doing my last set of close grips. I had 225lbs on the bar which I didnt realize was fckn bent as shit till it was to late. I noticed the bar was kinda rolling around on my lighter sets but didn't think nothing about it. I was on my 15th rep with 225 and I was almost to the top my last rep when the fckn bar litteraly rolled right out of my hands and landed on my fcknribs right below my pecs. I quickly grabbed the bar and pressed it off me and racked it but holly fck did it hurt!!!! It knocked all the wind out of me not to mention my sternum and ribs hurt like hell. Me being stubberon, I finished my workout which was dumb, but goddamn was I having a killer workout up until that point. I'm going to dr tomorrow to make sure I didn't fck myself up to bad. I really dnt think I broke anything, but I'm def fckn sore!!!!! Funny thing is that my back hurts exactly straight back from where my ribs hurt. The moral of the storey, make sure the bar your going use isnt a fckn bent piece of shit!!!!!
 
Major tragic fail two weeks ago at 24hr fitness So Cal.
dude was doing reverse squats on smith machine laying on the ground feet on bar, unlatching the catch with the balls of his feet. Great exercise as a finisher for hams n gluteus if done right.............but this cat decided to lay on a bench instead of ground, pile on 10 plates and totally ignored the emergency safety side rails and when he tried to hook the bar back on the rack the fucking bar / 10 plates slipped off his feet and free feel on to his chest with such a force blood shot out his ears, nose and mouth along with his eye bulging out like a bug, dude was D E A D instantly. 29 yrs dumb.
we all lift heavy but know when your putting yourself at risk.
 
Holy crap eswol are you serious that sounds terrible bro. Zues ive seen this first hand with a bro of mine accept he was benching I think 345lbs for a couple reps and the bar rolled over in his hands, he doesn't use a thumb lock when he benches, well he didn't before this happend, I don't think it broke anything but he was def bruised up for a week or so.

I was walking into the gym when the fire trucks and ambulances were there, they shut it down for awhile so I was turned away. The poor kid worked with one of my buddies down in the port of long beach. Since then they have dismantled the smith machines in about 3 different 24hr fitness within a few miles where it happened. Very sad indeed. He wasn't a bigger kind ofguy so 10 plates (5 a side) is just crazy.

That is terrible, people truly don't realize the dangers in not fully knowing what can happen if you simply overlook something most take for granted.
 
That's really sad. I have seen so many accidents on the smith machine, I tell everyone to stay away. It gives a false sense of security. It encourages people to try more than they are capable of and does not build the stabilizing muscles. I know a guy who was doing shoulder press on the smith, thought it was racked, it wasn't, he let go and it came down and landed on the back of his neck paralyzing him for the rest of his lift. I was also spotting Mr. Michigan a few years back while he was doing bench press on the smith with too much weight. I heard a terrible ripping noise. I thought his shirt was ripping. It was his pec. I will stick to my dumbells.

Bruised diaphram, bruised sternum, and bruised ribs. That being said I already went back to training. Took 1day off and thats it. I dnt care if I have a broken fckn leg, Ill do one legged squats. I'm to close to show time and nothing is gna keep from my goals. There may be people already dieting or whatever for the Iowa, but try training when it hurts to breath. Is it smart? No, but this is what I'm willing to do to win. As a matter of fact, I'm getting ready to fckn destroy my legs today.
