Making a change too

Triathalons can be an expensive hobby...My company is a huge player in the endurance athletics market and big races like the Ironman can cost over 500-600 dollars just to enter the race. Even crazier is these races can sell out in less than an hour. Smaller races are usually more reasonable and probably just as much fun.

I'm starting with duathlon. My swim is just so bad there's no way I can make it 250 meters. I'm going no carbs starting today for a while to see if I can get the weight off a little quicker. Also taking a couple of more days off from running to let my knees rest a little. Going to concentrate on the swim and my bike for a few weeks til I can get better shoes.

Try the carbs just before the exercise, going no carbs will drop the weight but you will feel terrible, its called TKD, targeted ketogenic diet, it works pretty good

50 is a good number to start. You can add or subtract from that. Ive found that when your done with the exercise you will still be in ketosis because the body will just rapidly burn those carbs.

I ate carbs all damn day. You talk about shitty workouts with low carbs in bodybuilding, try crashing halfway through your long ride and can't make it back home. If I remember correctly I was up to about 500g of carbs and about 200g of that were taken during long rides with boiled potato's and some Snickers to kick it if I was having a hard time on the ride.

Texas is one of the Mecca's of triathlons so there is no short of races. Especially in the Austin area.

There's actually 7 race duathlon series here in Dallas put on by a bike mart in Richardson. You get points for your placings at each race and at the end of the season they crown a champion per age group. If all goes well the fall and winter I'm signing up for it in the spring! Ive been looking online I could do a race every single weekend between march 1st and nov 1st in Texas if I wanted and most are within 50 miles of my house. Just gotta stay healthy and consistent!
