back about 7 years ago i tried to eat/ drink everything that was 100% pure. No spice, flavors, only foods that were in their most natural state. i did it while weight training for football and i was able to do it for about 5 months. It was really hard to do and guess what??? i dont think it did a fuckin thing. maybe made my shits more regular.... I think the extra boost you get from shakes, especially when on cycle is well worth it. I say continue to eat right and maintain different protien sources (i like chicken and tuna the most) but IMO theres no reason not to add shakes to the mix..

i did this for awhile, just because for the fact that protien shakes were making me throw up. i gotta say, just eating whole clean food only i became leaner but i wasnt able to put muscle weight on, i couldnt pin point what i was doing wrong. ive been adding in shakes for the past two months and ive gained 5lbs. im just as hard as i was two months ago, but ive been doing slightly more cardio to so, idk that could be the reason for my leanness

theBIGness, I don't know if you're leaning down for any reason, but whatever you're doing is certainly working for you. So if he's not taking any shakes, then I'd certainly say it might help everyone

Yeah, I used to dislike protein shakes and only eat food for protein intake. It's just too much of a hassle now and plus its hard to get in the proper amount of protein without them. I don't think my physique really benefited from not using them either.

I think it's personally easier to calculate protein intake if you use shakes, but I don't typically weigh my food unless I'm in cotest prep so that may play a factor as well
