Legs have been my weakest part for a while, been hittin em extra hard. My max a year ago was prolly 295 to 315 so pushing up 405 was a big deal to me, i know alot of you guys warm up with that but its big to me, lol. Got the first 2 all me, had alot of help from my spotter on the 3rd rep.

Good job man...I teach my clients look at a spot up high on the wall, keep your head up and drive like you are arching back (in feel anyway) This activates the hips and drives the back in a proper position so you don't dip forward. Just a thought.

Thanks bro, i usually try to get in the zone and find my spot to focus on, but this was just a spur of the moment thing, didnt even think that i would get it 1 time so when i got it i kinda lost my focus, lol. It was on my fourth set and i got 365, 6 times the set before so i said f it and went for it.

Ive got a few more vids of me doing squats, when i go heavy you can see that my hips sway to the right a bit on the way up. Ive been doing my best to correct it, dont really know what causes it but its def there and could be a problem going forward if i continue to go heavier.

Your first movement (in order to save your knees) should be to throw your hips/ass back as if you're getting ready to sit on a chair. This will help the weight on your hips and will allow you to really power through the movement. Try to keep your knees from coming over your feet....But anyway, great set, congrats on getting a new PR

congrags brutha. Legs are my huge problem. I know exactly what you were thinking after the 2nd rep. I do the same. I try not to pause and think but go . Now I dont lock out bc I want the constant tension. I get less reps but I feel locking out at the top stops the momentum and drive. Former NPC knows TONS more so he may or may not agree. I do look up like he said. Also, for motivators I found ronnie rockel on youtube doing front squats with crazy weight like it was candy. Great form. I kinda helps me to visualize and get the mind/body thing. Anyway, great job!!!

I think about how I sit on the toilet instead of a chair bc its lower down

Well, yea that works too. I used to tell clients to think of having someone behind them and trying to bump them out of the way with their butt. That should be the first movement in order to load up the hips
