My foot has been killing me for the past couple of weeks and I'm almost certain it's plantar fasciitis. I had it years ago, but went away when I dropped a lot of weight. Lately I've been weight training and running about 10-12 miles per week and think it caused it to flair up again. I've been trying to stay off my feet too much and been wearing shoes most of the time at home to avoid stepping on the hardwood floors barefoot. I also bought some shoe inserts for high arches.
I've tried wrapping my arches and taping my feet, but not sure if its going to cause more issues in the future. Any tips or tricks to get over this quicker?

You need to tape your arch. It will help a ton. This video has several remedies and will show you how to tape your foot. I had this a few years ago and its very painful. Taping the foot and a good pair of shoes saved my life.

This video is a bit more detailed on the taping.

Never heard of it, what exactly is it?

Like a strained arch of the foot.. Some people don't have arches..lol. Such as people on the flinstones cause they grind them off running and stopping the car. it's annoying pain like a constant cramp..

Hope you aren't wearing flip-flops next to zeus at the gym.. Lol

I had Plantar Faciitis

I had it 2 years ago. It was extremely painful! I tried everything then went to a podiatrist. A series of cortisone shots and 'wahlah' it was gone. Has not returned. I am one grateful person.

I feel sorry for People without arches!!! It just looks awful in my opinion

I would never get a cortisone shot. All it does is mask the pain while you further tear the ligament away from the bone. Cortisone does not cause the problem to fix itself.

Massage, ice, and taping the foot will fix it. Its takes time but it works. Also buy a REALLY good pair of shoes. I will only buy ECCO shoes for work. Spend the money on a good pair and you'll thank me later.

You can take a frozen water bottle (like the .99 cent ozarkaones and roll it back and forth with the arch of your foot. It's painful but helps a lot. You can also use a tennis ball too. Like I said its painful but will help heal it.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I will keep taping my foot. The frozen water bottle definitely helps - annoyingly painful at times lol - but it feels a bit better after the cold wears off. I'll probably pick up another pair of good running shoes to wear.

I'm sure the water bottle is annoying, I couldn't imagine keeping my foot on something frozen like that. Have you tried leaving a sock on while icing it? I feel bad for you, I couldn't imagine having foot pain, heel spurs about murdered me

Yeah, I do with and without sometimes. I was thinking I might have a heel spur as well, but not positive. It might just be the plantar fasciitis but the middle of my heel on the underside of my foot hurts. It feels like I'm walking on a thumb tack. How did heel spurs feel for you?

Actually did a little bit of reading and it seems plantar fasciitis and heel spurs are closely related and possibly caused/symtpoms from one another.
