How long it too long for gear to be sitting in syringes?

I'm not a practicer of pre-loading syringes, but I know many do to help cut down on time and such.

If you have some prop sitting in a syringe for maybe a month, maybe a few days over a month, is it still good to shoot?

Thanks.

Great question.

Since the everything was sterile to begin with, it should be fine for a while. I would switch the pin before I use it however as the oil on the pin has been exposed to air for a while. But I always switch the pin 'cause I draw with a 20g pin and shoot with a 22g or 23g pin.

I would love to hear other thougts on this as I am now going to have to start preloading as well.

I've never kept anything pre-loaded for more than a week or 2 but I've never had any problems occassionally doing that. I even preload my IGF and keep them in a mini fridge under my desk. I do know that overtime the BA will erode the plastic of the syringe itself but I would imagine that it must take a bit of time to do that and if they're stored in a dark, cool, dry place it probably slows it down as well... I'd be curious to hear other reply's as well and DocWill brought up a good point about changing the pin

def change the pin. I put the 25g back on after using a 20g to draw, but will but some new 25's on.

Good points made.

I remember when I was 16yrs old... My first time trying gear. The sus250 that I bought came loaded in a syring-lol. Thats how they where distributed by drug manufactures. I think it was for horses though... not sure. the needle was like a 18 gauge...

I still have nightmares....

righto.....they were 18 gauge and my boy didnt know any better. i bet he still has nightmares too.

Oh, my point was- If they used to load them a long time ago, I doubt that there is much of a problem.

Dont do it for like a year, but a month- not big deal.

I also load mine 2 or 3 days out,for when I need injections on a day that my girlfriend is home. Keeps my bathroom brakes to a minimum. -I keep her in the dark about my usage.
