Does anyone who competes get by on solid foods for their entire protien intake daily? I for one stay much much leaner without protien shakes, Maybe because my protien has dairy in it and its worthless who knows, but I know I cant possibly consume enough protien in solid meals, Can YOU?
 
ill get about 200 grams by way of shakes and bars, so thats to easy to pass up. three whole food meals and im up around 300 or so. but i too will use more whole food sources as it gets closer, probably about 2 weeks out.
 
I definitely use protein shakes for prep as well but drop them 4 weeks out in lieu of solid food.

Use only shakes post workout and 1 mrp a day. I dont really notice a difference when dieting whether I use whole food or shakes. I just notice that whole food fills me up more when dieting hard and shakes are just a liquid tease.
 
i agree with isopure 50grams per scoop, and tuna, and a few chicken breasts and then a shake again like lean body or another flavor of isopure with say sunny -d or water with a small amount of a kool iad packet.
this has greatly helped me reduce the boring shake and solid thing, and i can mix flavors while adding no calories or sugars, and the carbs in this is extremely low on top of my usual water intake...
Solid foods at that time is a bitch, i feel like my stomach shrinks when i get leaner...lol
 
my stomach also feels smaller when i diet bro, doesnt take much to fill me up sometimes, like a tick tac will do for some meals,lol
 
A friend of mine who's competeing in the JR nationals this week is strictly whole food. He doesnt even have a jar of protien powder. His life is precooked food and a shitload of plastic microwavable containers........That takes a very disciplined mindset.
 
I use whey isolate all the way up to shows.I cut shakes out the last 3 day,only because of the sodium.
I have all me people use shakes.It's just too hard to get enough protein on whole food.
