I got this calorie burn meter for a gift and thought I would review it here since I feel it can give someone and edge as to competition. Since small edges in competing at certain levels can mean the difference between 1st and 2nd place.

First off the calorie meter is worn on the upper arm and measures certain bodily functions related to metabolism. If you want the science specifics you will have to go read about it on your own. Just google, BODY bugg.

First off I feel this is a valuable tool as you can actually put a number on calorie burns for specific activities and for the daily totals. Then with the total number you can match it to your intake and decrease or increase calories as needed. In the setup portion you can list your body weight and body fat so you can get a reliable number. It made me realize which activities hardly burn any calories at all. I have compared the burn numbers to which is listed on the cardio machines which are way off. Sometimes as much as 50 %. Also I have noticed that as time goes by on a deficit I burn much less in calories, then with a refeed the metabolism fires up again. This would enable sometime to time their refeeds more exactly and not just how they feel. The only downside to this thing is the cost . Its like 200 dollars but for a dough boy like me well worth it. Just something to consider. I know you guys who compete like being specific and this tool can help. Maybe one day Ill shed this endo fat jacket that I have on and Ill let someone else wear it for a while.

there is no way some device on my arm can tell how many calorie's my body burned.

I don't understand a lot of these things. I have a pedometer to count steps that I take throughout the day and it tries to say how many calories I burn, but I don't think there's anyway to determine this exactly as it can't tell if you're doing anything other than walking. For instance if you're outside working and lifting things up and down or if you are simply walking back and forth
