Now granted he's getting a bunch of time not for the steroids, but for the weapons charge. But damn....

A Southern California man accused of running a steroids lab in Compton has agreed to plead guilty to weapons and drug charges, according to court documents filed Monday.

Warren Abramson will plead guilty to five counts, including one for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance and three for having gun silencers. A court date to enter his plea before a judge has not yet been determined.

He faces up to 55 years in federal prison and fines totaling $1.25 million.

A phone message left for Abramson's attorney, Thomas Nishi, was not immediately returned.

Abramson offered steroids for sale on the Internet through his distribution company and leased a building in Compton to manufacture the substance as well as other drugs, the plea agreement said. Abramson had more than 6400 grams of anabolic steroids that he intended to deliver to someone in September 2007, prosecutors said.

Among the items seized from Abramson included three silencers, four firearms and more than 4,500 rounds of ammunition, court documents show.

Abramson was among more than 120 people who were arrested in 2007 as part of a global investigation into steroid trafficking over the Internet. Dubbed Operation Raw Deal, federal agents busted 56 labs and recovered more than 11 million doses of steroids and human growth hormone.

What was touted at the time by federal authorities as the largest-ever crackdown on steroids followed a growing number of scandals in the sports world over steroid abuse. The investigation, however, didn't ensnare any professional or college athletes after a review of thousands of customer names retrieved from targeted Web distributors.

Many of those who were arrested have pleaded guilty and been sentenced, authorities said.

Countries that participated in the investigation included China, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Thailand.

that 55 federal years. the real thing. Not these 4 days for 1 that the states have.

You could kidnap, rape, assault, rob and maybe even kill someone and not get 55 years.

^^^^Seriously..... Hmmm who runs America, the blue collered hard working citizens...no, no... hmmm the majority... no no..... oh wait I got it, Pharmacies, they run this whole country, it really gets old. I have 2 people living within a half mile of my house that have both been charged with rape, 1 of them also has Kidnapping with a weapon, of a minor, He is like 30, so these pieces of shit get 2 years in jail and than get to live literally next door to children(and very, very close to school bus stops), but if u try to make money or save money by taking it out of the Pharmacies pockets, ur done, no 2 years, no slap on the wrist, real punishment. Is it this ass backwords in every country? or is there hope somewhere??

Compton, Ca huh. I order from a guy years ago and it came wrapped up in newspapers from there. I wonder if it's the same guy.

no one should really need 4,500 rounds either lol I mean when China owns us, that wont be enough bullets anyways lol

Yeah, very illegal, unless you have your FFL license. He must have been a felon to get busted with weapons. Its not illegal to own guns

No, but it is illegal to posess drugs and throw in the guns and it's not a good combo. The gun charge alone will carry a hefty sentence. You can't even be a known drug abuser and own a gun yet alone a dealer

Yep, you hit on the head there. If someone is charged with a crime In california and a weapon is found on their person or property it automatically upgrades the offense. not quite sure this is the case federally?

and you're right once again with regard to the addict rule, however it only applies to previously convicted felons (in CA) — if your addicted to a narcotic and are caught with possession of a gun you're likely headed to prison. it's called: "Felon with a Firearm" Law in Cali... I'm almost certain there's no such offense on the federal books though...

considering the number of charges here its really quite amazing he's not facing more...i'd expect he'd be facing more time. this is most likely attributed to the fact that he's being prosecuted by the feds rather than the state. in this regard, he should be extremely thankful

Yea with the feds he has to go based on their sentencing guidelines so if the state us harsher, hecaught a break in that aspect, but there's no "early release" in the feds. It's a mandatory 85% and that's of time served not 85% of the sentence. So basically you get 47 days off for good time credit every year you're there instead of 54. So yea, he's fucked lol

My friend only got 3 years for having guns, a couple bombs and some meth. He's clean and back on stage competing again. 55 years is ridiculous. People got what they wanted from the guy in Compton. Its not like he was forcing stuff down someones throat or a rapist. America needs to be restructured.

Crazy, said he was busted in 2007 and just now being sentenced. All of these being Federal charges and dealing with the ATF and probably DEA mixed. To add, 3 counts of illegal Class II firearms mixed in conjunction with a lab and distribution setup, it's a hefty sentence. Sorry to hear stories ike this...
