I just watched a tv program on this Free For All Market Place selling EVERY HARDCORE DRUG IMAGINABLE! And they use a new currency called "BitCoins"
Anyways I was curious who knew about this, its not accessible through the normal web, but rather through this "TOR" download that makes it impossible to track or find the buyers or sellers.
Anyways the show said our Government was up in arms because they couldnt track these sales and theirs no money trail and all IPs are Onion Routed or someshit, lol
Anyways I was just curious who already knew about this shit? Im not savy enough to figure out how to upload and download all this shit to get to this market place, or install the TOR
This has been around for quite some time. Up until last year I had never heard of it either. I still don't understand how to even get on silk road, let alone navigate it. It's internet, but it's nothing like 'the internet' most of us are familiar with. The way I understand it, it's an 'underground' web that takes a fair bit of computer savvy to navigate cause it doesn't use common worldwide address formats like we are accustomed to. If you don't know what you are doing, you can end up seeing a lot of shit that would scar you for life! I've been told that there's really NOTHING you can't find on silkroad. From drugs to snuff videos to murder for hire, etc...
Bitcoins are the typical currency for it, since they are untraceable. I don't completely understand the ins and outs of bitcoins either. From what I do understand about it, is that they can increase in value(such as gold does when currency is inflated, etc). I've heard of a person buying $100 in bitcoins and a yr and half later it was worth almost $400(or something in that range) because the person had not used them...
Since SR isn't something you can really research(as in finding written, published articles), I would be interested to hear what others, who've actually used or got on SR, have to say about it... I don't have the nerve to get on it myself because of some of the things I've heard(like coming across child porn mistakenly, then being charged and imprisoned for it.. when the person was NOT looking for it, nor did they want to see it!)
As far as tormail. It is a volunteer hosted email service that bounces ip addresses off of 1000's of servers all over the world, so that email is untraceable. I've used tormail, so I know a little more how it works. It's a pretty good email service, but it's VERY slow!!!(because of all the rerouting, I assume), I've literally had to wait about 20min for an email to open one time... So I don't use it often, but if you want to remain anonymous, tormail is a good way to do so.
