Torn Tendon

I was doing shrugs ten days ago and the tendon that connects my bicep to my forearm snapped. I had surgery on Thursday but I had some quesitons for anyone that has been through this.

I am, of course, starting a 'tendon' cycle. 180 mg of test a week, 600 mg of eq, and 500 mg of var (taken 40 mg 2x a day). I will probably add 500 mg a week of primo in two weeks.

So here are my questions. Is there anything else I should consider for tendon growth? GH kills my joints (tendonosis) so that is out, and deca (at that level of test) would not be good for my sex life.

How long do people really wait to start lifting again? I can't see waiting months for the upper body.

Any suggestions for good exercises that wouldn't screw with the elbow.

cant really help you here bro i got a torn longhead biceps brachii but i tore it where the muscle and tendon connect so theres not much they can do for mine. I just gotta take it slow. I wouldnt be able to say how long to lay off though so bump it up for ya.

Get Swole - ouch. Did it completely rip, or just partially?

Taking it slowly is tough. The time it takes to heal is usually a lot less for people like us that are lifters. But on the other hand, the worst thing to do is to do what we want and get back in the gym.

Good luck

Hey Doc, good to see you around but really sorry to hear about your injury. I think you said it best along with G's advice, it takes less time to heal for lifters a lot of time but it's also a lot more dangerous for us because we lift to get reinjured. I know it's hard waiting for it to heal but you really need to follow your Doc's advice and maybe even see a physical therapist who can help you rebuild strength through rehab. Good luck and Godspeed in your recovery bro. Know go hit those legs and do your cardio :)

well at first it partially ruptured but now its completly gone i have a hole kinda lol and about 1/2 inch difference in one arm to the other. It still hurts everynow and then but scar tissue pretty much keeps it from killing me. Doc said they could fix it but since it was torn at the muscle and tendon juncture then it was like a 50/50 shot that it would hold a stitch and not tear apart again. If it would have torn from the bone then thats easy they fixed my subscap like that just anchor it to the bone and it stays there but not from the muscle to tendon obviously so i just live with it lol. Its not all that bad if somebody grabs my arm and squeezes right there then their thumb kinda goes in the hole and i get some pretty good pain but other then that im livin pretty regularly good luck bro and take it slow.

why don't you just up the test and then throw in the deca

I agree with presser. If it is bothering your tendons/joints then you are taking too high of a dose. Start low...IGF might help as well. That's a terrible injury that is going to just take time to heal. Take it easy...and rest.
