traps generaly respond well to high reps just as much as they do from low reps heavy weight. So the choice is your with the rep range, as far as exercises i would stick to shrugs. I personaly use the 100lb dumbells and rep out about 3 sets of 30-50 depending on how much i did on my warm up sets, I also started out in my early years using barbell for heavy as possible shrugs, and now do the high reps. anyhow I would stick to shrugs for sure bro and totaly kill them and dont roll your shoulders, just straight up and straight down
 
x2 on the 100lb shrugs. i do those very last in may trap workout. i start out in the smith. few sets with bar in front of me, then behind me.
