Got my blood test results not my thyroid as they thought. Turned out Mt T levels are low. That is probably why I'm tired loss of sex drive etc. I have been referred to a endocrinologist office but they made my appointment for December! Every reference j have called sucks. Anyone else have problems finding a doc to prescribe TRT?

Yes, that would be why you are experiencing those symptoms. There should be no reason why your doc can't prescribe testosterone for you if your levels are low, even if you are referred to an endo. Many docs just aren't comfortable prescribing because of it being a schedule III controlled substance. Sometimes you have to help them over their fright and educate them that they are doing more harm than good by not prescribing when you clearly have a medical need.

So did your primary care prescribe for you? You'd need something until you're able to see the endo.

I started going to my current doc when I moved back to my current area and after being on TRT for 7 months prior to moving. Current doc told me point blank there was no waybhe was going to prescribe me testosterone Cypionate. It was obvious he thought I was looking for a doc to give me gear. So I had to come completely off, stayed off for 4 months, meanwhile doing my best to educate him on TRT. Not that he isn't a smart guy; he is, and was willing to listen to my issues, unlike the previous half dozen docs I'd seen. This is the primary reason I stuck it out with him. He had beed talking about possibly prescribing Androgel, which I wasn't real happy with. When I went back with blood work showing that I was, in fact, low - still in 'normal' range, but low - he prescribed test cyp. So he listened to me, heard me, and probably did his own research. So now I'm back on a low TRT dose and will experiment and tweak as needed.

I have found that you REALLY need to be your own advocate, and REALLY need to know your shit in order to run everything you hear from a doc through the 'bullshit filter'. This way you'll know whether to stick with the doc or move on. But above all, stick around here, read as much as you can, ask questions and learn. I've learned more about hormones and what goes on in the body here, from guys with experience and first hand knowledge, than from a half dozen docs. Not that you don't need a bullshit filter on an internet forum, but there's very little bullshit to be found here, at least as far as I can tell.

Yeah I see your point I was very low and the doc knows that it's a woman and she told me too that I would need to see the endocrinologist doctor. But I have heard primary care can prescribe. I think I will move on to another doc preferably a male. It's just sad that I have to go through so much when there is proof in my blood work that I need help. I wanna run test cyp. Also I'm not even gonna mess with any gels around my kids alot. Thanks for your input much appreciated

I'd agree, find a male doc. A female doc (I have nothing against them really.. I'm sure they know their stuff) just won't understand the problem because she can't possibly relate to how you feel.

I have had the complete opposite experience. My doc is a female and I just asked for TRT she ran my blood work and my test came back in the high 300s and I walked out with a script for test cyp. I must say things are a bit different than the norm in south florida. My insurance covers it and I only pay 10$ 10 ml of Watson cyp.
