I started going to my current doc when I moved back to my current area and after being on TRT for 7 months prior to moving. Current doc told me point blank there was no waybhe was going to prescribe me testosterone Cypionate. It was obvious he thought I was looking for a doc to give me gear. So I had to come completely off, stayed off for 4 months, meanwhile doing my best to educate him on TRT. Not that he isn't a smart guy; he is, and was willing to listen to my issues, unlike the previous half dozen docs I'd seen. This is the primary reason I stuck it out with him. He had beed talking about possibly prescribing Androgel, which I wasn't real happy with. When I went back with blood work showing that I was, in fact, low - still in 'normal' range, but low - he prescribed test cyp. So he listened to me, heard me, and probably did his own research. So now I'm back on a low TRT dose and will experiment and tweak as needed.
I have found that you REALLY need to be your own advocate, and REALLY need to know your shit in order to run everything you hear from a doc through the 'bullshit filter'. This way you'll know whether to stick with the doc or move on. But above all, stick around here, read as much as you can, ask questions and learn. I've learned more about hormones and what goes on in the body here, from guys with experience and first hand knowledge, than from a half dozen docs. Not that you don't need a bullshit filter on an internet forum, but there's very little bullshit to be found here, at least as far as I can tell.
