How many of you believe in incorporating unilateral movements to keep balance between body parts? I've recently began doing single leg movements for this reason. First off, I use much less than half the weight I could do with two legs. This pretty much tells me I'm using much more than just my legs in these double leg movements, like my hips and back in squats and leg presses. My single leg strength has shot up pretty high since then and I've actually reduced a little knee pain I've been living with for so long. Anyone else doin this shit?

I do a lot of unilateral movements. I like Barebell bulgarian split squats. I usually do some single leg on the leg press. I'll do pistol squats and also single leg squats on the smith. It has helped my overall leg strength but I mostly feel the diff running and jumping (football, basketball) and feel a lot more explosive.

I don't do much unilateral leg movements but I do for other things. I suppose it would be a good way to keep things even, might give it a go. I do like being able to push a lot of weight, need both legs for that. :crap:
