How do you guys use it. I saw on trueproteins they had a discussion board, but wanted to know how you guys use it (the ones that do)?

Some say only wazy maize post workout, then only whey isolate a little later. Some say both directly post workout (same way Ive always done whey concentrate and dextrose post workout).

any thoughts?

Also, anyone try Hydrolized whey and notice a difference (besides taste)? Im wondering if its even better at fighting bloating post workout then isolate?
 
ive been wondering the same bro. i use whey isolate blend and dextrose immediatly post but i know what you mean some people take like 10 g's protein and their waizy some none i dont know. I am very curious too though.. so bump it up
 
I can only tell you from my experience and what I know from training for races. Your body needs a 4:1 Carb to Protein ratio post workout. So ideally you should be taking in both waxy maize and whey protein post workout. What I've been trying is just mixing two scoops of WM with a scoop of Whey into a shake in the morning when I'm done with my workout. I do feel better pretty quickly but it might be all in my head.
 
nice how big are the scoops mike i know my dextrose is like a tbl spoon or so i just throw like 4 or 5 of them in my shake a down it with my whey. I wish i wouldnt have bought 5 pounds of this shit it takes forever to consume.
 
i use one "regular" scoop (like 70cc I think is what is normal) of carbs (waxy maize) and then 2 scoops whey isolate. Does this seem wrong?

I guess I still just dont understand exactly how waxy maize works. Apparently alot of people dont. Dextrose makes more sense, and hence is easier to understand when decided exactly how to use it.....post workout with protien for the insulin spike.

but waxy maize doesnt spike insulin?
 
your post workout goal of carbs to protein should be 4:1 so just figure out how much is in what you're adding because some protein supps will have some carbs in them in the form of sugar etc. If you're using pure protein and WMS you can just measure it out 4:1 with scoops or teaspoons or whatever but if there are hidden carbs in there take them into account.
 
i just bought some mix from Optimum that i drink during my workout it has creatine, glutamine, and taurine in it
it was cheap too
 
I read - I think on true protiens site - that the waxy maze shouldnt be cut too much
because it slows down absorbtion which it the opposite of what you want the waxy
for. I think it was like at least 75-80 % waxymaze. Mikes formula would be fine then.
Check out the site - a lot of good info - dont take my word for it.

yes bro that formula is right on. you can eat your whole food meal in 45 mins after. you guys should grab some. there really convient to travel with, just add water.
 
I do not even know what Waxy Maize is, and I have been searching for it for a few days. If any of you would like to help me with this mysterious supplement.

I just started back working out after a few years off. I have been using waxy maize PWO. I take one scoop mixed with a little gatorade. Then 30 minutes later I take a NLarge 2 shake.

No it would not substitue as a good night time protein, WM use is to pull supplements quickly into the intestines to digest quickly. It is better for a PWO mixed with creatine, beta-alanine, NO products, and with another PWO Carb/Pro 15-30 minutes after the WMS with your other PWO Supplments.

On another forum, the owner of the company says that is how he does it with grapefruit juice (probably for taste and for vitamins). The only thing I have heard is that in order for the molecular weight to be right you have to have a greater or equal to ratio of 3:1 (WMS:other supplements). Basically for the 75g that you take of WMS, don't take more then 25g of the other supplements combined or the affect of the WMS will be slowed down and the desire effect won't be accomplished.

exactly. its all about the molecular weight with waxy maize.
