What do you do to combat late night eating?

I eat great all day long. Protein and low glycemic carbs through several small meals. My problem is around ten pm. I get the munchies. I usually keep apples, banana cream pie yoplait yogurt, and hundred calorie bags of or popcorn around. What do you do to fight this problem? I drink a protein shake at night, but it doesn't cut it. I stay up late too, so it is really a problem when I get bored.
 
You need more of the casein type of protein. It digests more slowly to combat you getting hungry at night. If all else fails, have a small shake ready in the fridge, and if you must eat in the middle of the night, go drink that then go back to bed.
 
If you are hungry and DONT want to eat anything, DONT want any calories, try slamming as much ice water as you can handle. This will stop your hunger, plus its good for you.
 
I have actually tried the water, but maybe not to that extreme. Sleep would be great if I could go to sleep. Insomniac. Ill check out true protein.
 
I eat 1/2 a container of cottage cheese before bed. premium casein cheap price. that usualy holds me through the night. but if not, I may wake up at 3 a.m. and have a small glass of milk with some eggbeaters added that will hold me for a couple of hours until breakfast.Also if I want to fill my stomach, or want something sweet with no calories, I will drink the sh*t out of some crystal light. Its like desert with no remourse.

Crystal light lemonade is pretty good. Im eating sunflower seeds right now, but plan on taking in a shake in a few. I appreciate all the advice and I am going to order some protein from true protein when the wifey gets paid tomorrow.
 
I have the same problem. I get up in the middle of the night to piss and when I
walk back into the bedroom I have a bowl of ice cream in my hand. I dont keep any
ice cream or cookies around cus I'll eat them in my sleep. I'll try the water.
 
grape nuts. Eat a cup of this with milk and you appetite is done for. I'm not kidding. Great source of slow digesting protein and nutrients plus fiber.
 
Grape nuts might work. Ill have to try it. There are very few cereals I don't like.
 
I do the water thing, crystal light thing, and when necessary go with eggs or cottage cheese. I wish eating so much didn't make you fat. I could eat "good for you" shit all damn day, but if I eat too much I gain fat like no other.
 
Same here teed. I hate it, i just take a casein shake before bed and im usualy good till morning. I dont wake up much during the night anymore.
 
I bought some protein that is casein based and man it gives me massive gas. It also hurts me on the late nite sex thing (wife is not crazy about the clouds of methane). Just kidding. I am hooked on nature valley pecan granola bars currently. That is my junk food. I also got some tyson chicken breasts that are 220 calories and microwave in 2 minutes. That has helped.

Agreed, worked for me and now i have a nine month old daughter.
