Strong Squat = Fast Sprint
<HR color=red width="60%">Bodybuilders are often thought of as big, slow, muscle-bound oafs.
However, if an extremely muscled guy and a much thinner guy went head to head in a sprint, our money is on the more muscled guy. That is, if he can squat at least twice his bodyweight. One study from Appalachian State University (Boone, North Carolina) reported that in comparing sprint time in the 40-yard dash to one-rep squat strength in collegiate football players, those who could squat more than twice their bodyweight had significantly faster sprint times than those who could not. So work on your squat strength not only to build bigger wheels but faster ones.
