with such a huge importance placed on diet, for whatever the goal maybe(i.e. cutting, bulking), what are your absolute essential supplements that are taken on a daily basis? lets see a list of what youre taking, dosages, how often taken, and possibly a quick reason behind your use of that supplement.

with the supplement industry bringing in a billion plus in revenue, lets see what, how, and why we're taking these products.
 
Must have supplement: Whey Isolate (no sugars, fat or carbs)

Not a supplement but a must have for me with Whey Isolate: Oatmeal


(2sc) Whey Isolate
(1/2-1c) Oatmeal
(16-20oz) Water

Vitamins, Glutamine & BCAA's are good to have on hand as well...
 
Protien- Food and supplement source between 200-300 grams daily

Creatine- I use BSN Nitrix products that contain creatine I follow the label. I like the fullness.

Vasodilator- Also in the BSN Nitrix product I use. I use this for better blood circulation which helps with nutrient uptake and a fuller look along with vein popping pumps.

Probiotics- Essential for the synthesis and getting the most of anabolics, medications, food, etc. I use "Garden of life" brand because I noticed the difference and they contain a more comprehensive variation of beneficial probiotic cultures than any product ive ever seen or used. read about it http://titaniumnutrition.com/details/shopGD-006

Multi- I use life essence because its the most complete and I can actually notice a difference in energy and mental clarity. Life Essence does, of course, provide every vitamin and mineral you need. I dont buy into gimmick supplements.

I would only add IGF from MC store to this mix and a as giant stated above get plenty of water. Bodybuilders especially need it to help excrete toxins....more that the average joe.

whey isolate- cant eat enough protein
weight gainer- cant eat enough calories or carbs at times
multi-vitamin- insurance that i'm getting all my nutrients
EFA (Udo's oil) - hard to get my essential fatty acids without this
 
a good multi vitamin and a good protien. I have tried LOTS of other things but
these two have not changed in the 30 years I been around this game. Many
"supps" come and go, and I do use other things but on and off. These two have
always been the mainstay.
 
Supps I take

A handful of pills in the morning and another in the evening that includes a multi vitamin, a high potency B-complex (good for all kinds of reasons), 1000mg vitamin C (bodybuilders need extra antioxidants to clean up all the free radicals), 1000mg Vitamin E (heart health) 1200mg Calcium w/ 800 IU vitamin D (bone health), 3g Glucosamine (joint health and repair), 2.4g Chondroitin(joint health and repair), 4g MSM (joint health and repair), 3g Flaxseed oil (heart health, and joint health, an excellent source of omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids), 2400mg fish oil (heart and joint health, another good source for EFA's), 1000mg Pantothenic Acid (I had this recommended to me a long time ago to help with acne and it works), 1 aspirin daily (for cardiovascular health).

At night right before sleep I take my anti-estrogen (to maximize T and minimize E during the primary growth faze), 6g melatonin (boosts natural GH during sleep and helps achieve a restful sleep), 200mg Alpha Lipoic Acid (another free radical scavenger), 1605mg Valerian Root (a natural sleep aid for an uninterrupted night of muscle repair and growth).

Protein, right away when I wake up in the morning I use Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard whey. It absorbs quickly to give me a positive nitrogen balance after sleep. Throughout the day I have usually 2 or 3 more shakes to make sure I get enough protein, I find that I have a hard time getting enough if I depend solely on solid food. One of those is about in the middle of my workout so they nutrients are pumped into the muscles that I'm training.

Preworkout I take BSN's NOxplode. This is one of the most effective supplements I've ever used. It gives me the energy to attack the weights and rewards me with a skin ripping pump.

Protein right before bed BSN's Synthasix. A longer lasting and more slowly absorbing protein than the ON whey. I mix this with milk and a table spoon of natural flax butter to keep the muscles fed all night long.

Yeah, it sometimes seems pretty sick the amount of time, money and dedication that I spend on quality of life/health maintenance, but when I see people that I knew 10 or 15 years ago and they're fat and bald, missing teeth with bad skin and worn out bodies, married to an ugly, fat woman and I look better now than they ever did with a totally hot fiancé (who has a hot girlfriend) and an active lifestyle I know it's all worth it! Life is GOOD!!!

I am taking noxplode and must say it is one of my favorites as well. I use it to wake up and get my workout cranked when I get up. It seems like the creatine in it also supersaturates me. I ran out and dropped 4 pounds in two days as well as some hardness. I know the no effect makes me harder and most of the weight I lost was waterweight, but I get good pumps. Doing legs is often painful. I am going to throw this out there too. I take it before the "deed" and I get a harder weiner. Just try it, trust me. I was taking muscletechs nox9 or whatever it was, but had some prostate inflamation from it. I use whey protein, multivitamins, creatine, glutamine, and am looking for a good test. booster. If you know one let me know.
 
I'm with Azmodeus on the vitamins and minerals. I'm getting my shit ready to deploy and decided to take protein, multi-vitamin, vitamin C and E, glucosamine and msm, calcium, fish oil. I should be able to get some raw almonds and olive oil there to balance out my fats. Those are my most important supps lately.

I've noticed the same thing. My fiance says it thicker and harder too. Gotta love that side effect!
 
oh shit i forgot to mention the most important thing for me which is my e.c.a stacks ephedrine, caffien, asparin, its essential for me daily
