Eddie Hall Challenges Hafthor Bjornsson To $100k Charity Boxing Match

Eddie Hall Challenges Hafthor Bjornsson To $100k Charity Boxing Match

Eddie Hall recently challenged Hafthor Bjornsson to a boxing match to raise money for charity.
The boxing match between Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson has not been able to happen just yet. This was originally scheduled for Sept. 18 of this year but it was forced to be postponed because of an injury that Hall suffered. Now, the strongmen could put a wager on their fight whenever they do step in the ring.
In a recent YouTube video on his page, Hall proposed a deal to make this fight for charity. The loser would have to donate $100,000 to the charity of the winner’s choice. Hall continued by calling out promoters to decide on the venue and when the fight would take place.

Hall suffered a torn bicep, which forced his to step away from the September fight. He addressed that his bicep is fully reattached and that the surgery and rehab was a success.
“In two years since we’ve signed the contract, I haven’t seen a single punch from you that’s made me think, ‘oh, that one would hurt.” Eddie Hall said.
“You give this vibe of confidence which I want to call upon. If you’re that confident, let’s do a little wager between ourselves. If you’re that confident, why don’t we do, the winner gets a $100,000 to their choice of charity. So if I win, you pay a $100,000 to my choice of charity. If you win, I pay $100,000 to your choice of charity.”

The confidence that Eddie Hall showed in this video is based off his opinion that Hafthor Bjornsson’s boxing ability has not progressed since the two originally decided to fight. Bjornsson ended up fighting Devon Larratt and this fight ended in a first-round knockout. This was not a surprising outcome as Larratt is an arm-wrestling competitor and did not have much time to prepare for this fight.

It is not surprising to see Hall as confident as he is. Even during his rehab process, Hall has remained in the gym and has been working on perfecting his skills. While he was doing this, Bjornsson has also continued training and has had the opportunity to go up against live competition in the ring.
There will be no shortage of a storyline when these two eventually link up for what is being promoted as “the heaviest boxing matching history.”

There is no doubt that the two strongmen will step into the ring at some point. They have a history in powerlifting competitions and that will continue in boxing. The question remains, when and where? There is a chance for the two to meet in March of the upcoming year.
If this is the case, it would be interesting to see if there is a wager and how much it is for. Eddie Hall has already made an offer and now it is up to Hafthor Bjornsson to make the next move.

Hafthor Bjornsson Wants Logan Paul To Be His Next Fight

Hafthor Bjornsson Wants Logan Paul To Be His Next Fight

Hafthor Bjornsson said Logan Paul should be his next fight on recent podcast.
The Paul Brothers have recently taken over the boxing world. This includes Logan Paul taking on Flyod Mayweather in an exhibition match and Jake Paul defeating the likes of Tyron Woodley. Now, Hafthor Bjornsson could have an eye on the biggest sensation in the sport at the moment.
On Sept. 23, Bjornsson was a guest on the “Impaulsive” podcast hosted by Logan Paul. This is a platform where the Paul brothers have called out some big-name competitors and it was Bjornsson’s turn to make a suggestion — and he did not mince words.
“You should challenge me next,” Bjornsson said.

[embedded content]
The exchange between the two boxers was laid back and light. Paul even referenced the size of Bjornsson compared to himself and rightfully so.

There are some similarities between these two athletes. Paul became a big name on YouTube before transitioning into the world of boxing. Bjornsson began as Gregor Clegane aka The Mountain in Game of Thrones. Now, they have both become names in boxing to keep an eye on moving forward.

While the two competitors might have some similarities, there is one glaring difference — their size. Paul stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 190 pounds. This is significantly smaller than Bjornsson, who is 6-foot-9 and weighed in at 321 pounds prior to his fight with Larratt.
This is something that Paul mentioned during their exchange on the podcast.
“The thing is, if you crack me once bro, I’ve seen your sparring videos, your training videos, if you hit me with one punch, I don’t know if I’d be on this planet,” Paul said.
Hafthor Bjornsson began with two exhibition bouts before picking up his first professional victory. Devon Larratt filled in for Eddie Hall on Sept. 18 in Dubai. Hall suffered a torn bicep and was forced to withdraw from his scheduled fight with Bjornsson.
It is unknown when either competitor will step back in the ring but it is a priority to get Bjornsson’s bout with Hall rescheduled. Until then, it will be interesting to see which fights the Paul brothers end up accepting and which go away. If there had to be a guess made, it looks like a potential fight with Bjornsson is not high on their list moving forward.

Hafthor Bjornsson Vs Devon Larratt Fight Crashes Core Sports Website

Hafthor Bjornsson Vs Devon Larratt Fight Crashes Core Sports Website

Core Sports website suffers outages seemingly due to popularity of Thor Bjornsson Vs Devon Larratt boxing match.
We are mere hours away from the much anticipated Hafthor Bjornsson vs Devon Larratt boxing match. And it seems that users who have purchased the PPV are not able to view the stream – at least, not on the Core Sports official website. The Core Sports website has crashed for many users – citing a database error.
What originally started as a Hafthor vs Eddie Hall strongmen-turned-boxers mega fight – the premiere event suffered some setbacks and a few lineup changes. This was largely due to Eddie Hall suffering an injury and needing to drop out of the match. With the strongman match postponed for now – Bjornsson agreed to match up with Devon Larratt. The title fight is to take place today at 4pm EST.

But it seems those who wish to Hafhtor Bjornsson fight are now facing another hurder – as the official website of the live stream is currently suffering outage issues. At the time of this writing no official statement has been made by Core Sports. It seems as if the overwhelming popularity of the fight has caused the website to crash.
Technically, the PPV event has already begun – with other fights on the card leading up to the headliner match of Hafhtor Bjornsson vs Devon Larratt. With a mere hours away, fans are hoping the issue is resolved in time.

In the latest promotional Instagram post made by Core Sports – many fans have flooded the comments stating that they cannot watch the stream or even load the website without an error message:

Hafthor Bjornsson vs Devon Larratt: The Story So Far
Leading up to the fight, Thor Bjornsson has been working on his boxing skills with consistency for over a year and a half now and has made some great strides. The skills he’s been able to build have been truly impressive and show that he has more than enough talent to acquit himself well against professional boxers. His transformation weight loss and shred has also garnered much attention in both the strongman and boxing worlds.
Devon Larratt on the other hand has little to no boxing experience. The champion arm wrestler recently admitted he’s a terrible boxer ahead of his match with Thor Bjornsson. While arm wrestlers are known for their immense strength, you need more than power to be able to be a successful boxer. Devon Larratt certainly has a uphill battle ahead of him.

This kind of website overload isn’t necessarily a new story in the history of popular streaming events. HBO’s massively popular Game Of Thrones series often suffered website and streaming outages during series finales and premieres – due to the overwhelming popularity of the show.
Unlike Game Of Thrones, however, this is a PPV event with fans paying specifically for this one singular stream. As a live sporting event – this kind of outage is painfully frustrating to those looking to see the fight live – and those looking to get their money’s worth.
Some fans have commented that the Core Sports app has faired better with logging into the stream. If you are set to watch and having trouble connecting to the website – try visiting app.coresports.tv and logging in with your account. Generation Iron has not confirmed that this technique works – but it may be helpful for those worried of missing the headlining event.
This story is still developing – so stay tuned to Generation Iron Fitness Network for more updates and results for the match as they become available!

Eddie Hall Gives Injury Update And Thoughts On Boxing Match

Eddie Hall Gives Injury Update And Thoughts On Boxing Match

Eddie Hall shared a video on his YouTube page to discuss different topics.
Eddie Hall is a power lifter known for his incredible deadlift numbers over the years. He has been transitioning into the works of boxing but suffered a setback with a torn bicep.
Hall was set to take on Hafthor Bjornsson but has to postpone the match. Now, Bjornsson will take on Devon Larratt on September 18. In a recent YouTube video, Hall gave an injury update and his thoughts on the upcoming boxing match.
“First thing that sprung to mind is that Devon has done absolutely zero boxing training for the past 15 years. He’s done nothing but arm wrestling. And he’s got what, six weeks notice, maybe less? It’s a tough one. Honestly I think Devon could batter him, I really do. The only thing I’ll say with boxing you’ve got to be fit. That’s the only thing that could let him down,” Eddie Hall said.
Hall and Bjornsson have a history in the powerlifting game. They have battled in World’a Strongest Man competitions and in the art of deadlifting. Hall became the first person to deadlift 500kg before his world record was broken by Bjornsson, who beat it by a single kilogram.

For more news and updates, follow Generation Iron on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
This added some extra fuel to the boxing match but the world will have to wait for it. Bjornsson is set to meet Larratt, who made a name for himself arm wrestling.
“I never said it coming. Like very random. Big guy. Big strong guy. He’s [Larratt] no stranger to danger and he’ll be up for a scrap. I think that Devon has had a lot more fights in his life, having met him, trained with him and spoke to him. I think he’s used to that kind of environment of being under pressure in front of crowds with him being an arm wrestling stuff as well, close quarters,” Eddie Hall said.
Eddie Hall also gave an update on his injury. Since suffering his injury, Hall is back in the gym and rehabbing that arm. He has taken to Instagram to show videos of different exercises he has performed, such as dumbbell work and even some boxing maneuvers.
Despite not having full mobility of his arm just yet, Hall has been able to train different motions. He has been focused on increasing his anaerobic capacity. This is done with movements such as lat pulldowns, incline bench press, seated rows, and more.
Eddie Hall will likely continue to update the public on his injury over the course of rehab. As for the boxing match, many will tune in to watch Bjornsson take on Larratt to see who will come out on top.

Talking Huge With Craig Golias | EP 11: Hafthor Bjornsson Transformation & Milk Crate Challenge

Talking Huge With Craig Golias | EP 11: Hafthor Bjornsson Transformation & Milk Crate Challenge

[embedded content]
Craig Golias talks Hafthor Bjornsson’s incredible shredded transformation, the new viral milk crate challenge, and more.
Welcome to another episode of Talking Huge – a weekly digital series in which Craig Golias talks in-depth with Vlad Yudin on the latest trending topics in bodybuilding. Raw, honest, and uncut – Craig Golias shares his opinions on all things bodybuilding. In this episode, Craig Golias reacts to the insane shred and weightloss transformation of Hafthor Bjornsson. Other topics include the milk crate challenge and the dangers of pro bodybuilding.
Craig Golias and Vlad Yudin catch up again this week for another episode of Talking Huge debate and conversation. The biggest highlight of the week included Hafthor Bjornsson’s continued transformation from titan strongman to lean and shredded boxer. As someone who values being huge above all else, Craig’s reaction to Hafthor might not be what you expect. Craig also gives his take on the new viral milk crate challenge (will he do the challenge as a 300+ mass monster?) and also the dangers of pro bodybuilding vs natural bodybuilding.

Craig Golias thinks Hafhtor Bjornsson is getting too lean
Ever since Hafthor Bjornsson and Eddie Hall announced that they would box each other – both strongmen have taken the future battle very seriously. This means losing a ton of that strongman weight and focusing on being lean. Hafthor specifically has showcased an incredible transformation. He’s lost over 100 pounds and looks shredded as a beast.
Craig Golias is certainly impressed, though for his personal taste he feels that Hafthor took the cutting a bit too far. Craig is a man who loves mass monsters and being huge. He thinks that Hafthor looked his best somewhere between his original weight and where he is now.
That being said, Craig Golias also understands that his personal taste is different than Hafthor’s goal. Since Hafthor is training to box in the ring, he needs to be as lean, fast, and agile as possible. It’s a completely different requirement than what strongman or bodybuilding entails.
Will Craig Golias do the milk crate challenge?
A new viral challenge has swept the nation. This one is called the milk crate challenge. The goal is to stack a pyramid of milk crates and have an individual walk up and then down the slope without falling. Of course, the fun part is that many people fall… and hard.
Craig Golias knew little of this challenge but watched a few clips. He finds the challenge funny and admits that the challenges seem to be getting more and more dangerous. Craig understands why the stakes keep getting raised. In this new era, people will do anything for clicks, views, and attention.
But would Craig Golias be willing to do the milk crate challenge. It would certainly be a sight to behold. Imagine a 300+ pound mass monster walking up and down those shaking crates. Craig knows that video would explode – but he’s also concerned about getting injured if he fell. He’s already currently injured with nerve damage in his arm and shoulder. Training is key to Craig’s lifestyle and brand – so he will likely avoid a challenge like this.
Wrap Up

Hafthor Bjornsson Shows Physique Transformation Ahead Of Boxing Match

Hafthor Bjornsson Shows Physique Transformation Ahead Of Boxing Match

Hafthor Bjornsson posted a physique update ahead of his boxing match with Devon Larratt.
Hafthor Bjornsson is known as a powerlifter who holds the world record for the heaviest raw deadlift. In May 2020, Bjornsson set a new mark at 501kg (1,105lb), beating the previous mark held by Eddie Hall by a single kilogram. Now, Bjornsson has gone through the ultimate transformation as he begins to work his way into the boxing world.
In a recent Instagram post, Bjornsson looks extremely shredded at 340 pounds. He has gone down from 450 pounds during his days of powerlifting.

Hafthor Bjornsson is set to take on arm wrestler Devon Larratt on Sept. 18. Larratt recently replaced Hall, who was forced to back out due to an injury, in this match. Hall has already began training following a torn bicep. There is a chance that Bjornsson and Hall get in the ring at some point moving forward when they are both healthy.
The battle between Bjornsson and Hall was going to settle some issues that the two have had in recent years. They have been connected in both deadlifting and World’s Strongest Man competitions. In 2017, Hall won the WSM title with Bjornsson finishing as the runner-up. The very next year, Bjornsson was able to rise to the top and win his first WSM championship.
It is clear that Bjornsson has a serious passion for boxing. The recent transformation for Bjornsson has him looking shredded and slim. This shows that the increased cardio training associated with boxing has been paying off in a big way.

This is a chance for Bjornsson to continue his goal of bursting onto the scene in the boxing world. He has a couple exhibition fights under his belt against Steven Ward and Simon Vallily. Recently, it has become clear that Bjornsson has been training in the necessary ways to look like a fighter.
Bjornsson’s battle with Larratt is less than a month away. As we creep closer to the big night, the former powerlifter continues to get in fighting shape and make the ultimate body transformation.

Devon Larratt To Replace Eddie Hall In Match Against Hafthor Bjornsson

Devon Larratt To Replace Eddie Hall In Match Against Hafthor Bjornsson

Hafthor Bjornsson has a new opponent and it is arm wrestler Devon Larratt.
Hafthor Bjornsson has a new opponent. The news broke on July 25 that Eddie Hall would have to bow out of his boxing match against Bjornsson after suffering a torn biceps. Since that day, there was plenty of speculation on who would replace Hall in the fight. On Monday, we got our answer.
Matt Rhodes announced on his Instagram and YouTube page that arm wrestler Devon Larratt would replace Hall and take on Bjornsson in the ring. The fight will take place in Dubai on Sept. 18.
“Some rumours Devon has experience from his special forces career. He’s also been training with @mrlennoxlewis! What’s your thoughts?!”

Devon Larratt will enter this bout at 46 years old. He has a competitive arm wrestling record of 53-8 since making his debut in 1999. There is a strategy when arm wrestling and the same can be said about boxing — even though it is in different ways.
Larratt will not enter the fight blind. He has been training with Lennox Lewis and will be in a position to compete come fight night.
When looking at this matchup on paper, Bjornsson seems to have a bit of an edge. He stands at 6-foot-9 compared to Larratt, who is 6-foot-5. Bjornsson is about 51 pounds heavier and 14 years younger than Larratt. Bjornsson has a couple exhibition fights under his belt against Steven Ward and Simon Vallily. Larratt is used to head-to-head competition but it is in the sport of arm wrestling and not boxing.
This boxing match will take place the night before World’s Ultimate Strongman contest, and the first-ever strong woman competition. The undercard for the night will have CrossFit Games veterans  Josh Bridges vs. Jacob Heppner and powerlifter Stefi Cohen vs. Avril Mathie.
The match between Bjornsson and Hall has not been rescheduled just yet. If social media is any indication, it could happen once Hall is healthy. He has been posting updates on his Instagram page throughout rehab performing different boxing exercises. Until that time comes, Bjornsson will continue to gain experience and Larratt is the next opponent on the list.

Could We See Mariusz Pudzianowski vs Hafthor Bjornsson in September?

Could We See Mariusz Pudzianowski vs Hafthor Bjornsson in September?

It looks as if we could be potentially getting closer to a Hafthor Bjornsson versus Mariusz Pudzianowski showdown. The rumored bout between the two former World’s Strongest Man champions was just that, a rumor. But it appears that Mariusz is adding fuel to the fire with a recent new post.
When 2017 World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall announced he was out of his September fight with Hafthor Bjornsson, a ton of fans were let down by the news. The two rivals had done a great job building anticipation for the bout. With both men training for two years to prepare for the showdown it appeared that they were treating this battle with full seriousness.

Then Eddie Hall suffered his unfortunate bicep tear.
Suffice it to say, it truly put a damper on things. With other fighters set to be on the card and wanting to do battle himself, Hafthor Bjornsson has expressed interest in remaining on the card. But if he were to remain, who would he fight?
Well it appears that the rumor is none other than former multiple-time World’s Strongest Man champion Mariusz Pudzianowski.
After dominating the competition throughout his strongman career, Mariusz Pudzianowski would move on to competing in mixed martial arts. Most of his matches would take place under the Polish KSW MMA promotions banner. Mariusz has recently been floating the idea of a match up between himself and Hafthor Bjornsson in place of the Eddie Hall bout. Mariusz took to Instagram to inform the masses that negotiations are on the table for the potential bout.

It’s getting closer to finalizing the contract! However, Poland and KSW are less complicated than the west. Slowly, it doesn’t matter if there will be this fight or not, but I have to be ready because anything can happen. I never “CHEAP LEATHER DOESN’T SELL $$$ !!!” @thorbjornsson @pudzianofficial When it comes to fruition it will be quite a challenge for hell !!!! ???? Only boxing and I am a boxer like a goat’s ass with a trumpet, and what am I going to pour and it hurts !!!!
Ps: If he hits, bert may drop me, but he has to hit and catch me ?????

This would be a pretty interesting replacement bout for the Eddie Hall fight. Mariusz Pudzianowski has his fair share of fight experience, albeit in MMA rather than boxing. That experience will translate over well in the ring. As for the Hafthor Bjornsson, his exhibition matches have done well to help him acclimate to the boxing ring. If this fight does indeed get signed we could see a rather entertaining showdown between two World’s Strongest Man champions to replace the other.
Would you tune in to see Hafthor Bjornsson versus Mariusz Pudzianowski?

Hafthor Bjornsson ‘Wouldn’t Say No’ To Fight With Logan Paul

Hafthor Bjornsson ‘Wouldn’t Say No’ To Fight With Logan Paul

Hafthor Bjornsson not against the idea of fighting Logan Paul in the future.
Hafthor Bjornsson has not been shy about documenting his venture into the boxing game after making the transition from strongman. Bjornsson has flooded his Instagram page with different training videos showing off his recent progress. This was all in preparation for a showdown with fellow strongman turned boxer, Eddie Hall.
This fight has been postponed after Hall suffered a bicep tear. This leaves Bjornsson open for a new opponent and he served up an opinion on a rather well-known name in a recent interview.
Hafthor Bjornsson made it clear that he would be open to the idea of fighting Logan Paul if the opportunity presented itself.
“If he would want to fight me, I wouldn’t say no.”
“I mean, Logan Paul fought Floyd Mayweather and there was some height difference between those those guys plus weight difference. Logan Paul is 188cm tall, I’m 205cm, so I think there was a similar height differences from Floyd to Logan as Logan to me, but probably more weight difference, though.”
This would pair two fighters who made a name for themselves in different areas. Bjornsson set the deadlift world record of 501kg in May 2020. He took the record from Hall, who previously held it at 500kg since 2016. This was the initial intrigue of the Bjornsson-Hall boxing match. Paul became a YouTube sensation, along with his brother Jake, and now both are trying to make it in the boxing world.
This is something that Bjornsson acknowledged and admitted that he respects.
“You know, boxing is always huge, boxing is huge,” Bjornsson said. “But getting two brothers like the Paul brothers, who have millions and millions of followers following them, it’s just gonna get more attention to the sport. So I think it’s a good thing. It’s a good thing, because they’re taking it serious as well. I’ve seen at the beginning a lot of criticism and stuff like that, but, you know, you have two young brothers that are very successful, very dedicated, and motivated.”
Hafthor Bjornsson referenced the exhibition fight between Paul and Mayweather. This is a fight that went the distance and there was not a winner. There were mixed feelings after the fight because of the reason it happened and the effort put forth by both fighters. Regardless, Paul stepped into the ring with Mayweather and this shows that boxing is something he takes seriously.
Jake Paul has three professional fights under his belt to this point. He has picked up victories against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib, former NBA player Nate Robinson, and MMA fighter Ben Askren. He is scheduled to take on Tyron Woodley on Aug. 29. There are no plans as of now for Logan Paul’s next fight. He has been linked to Conor McGregor but that does not seem to be on the horizon.
The same can be said about Hafthor Bjornsson. After his fight with Hall was postponed, there is no immediate for Bjornsson to face. He has been active in training and serious in his dedication to boxing. This means that a new opponent could surface quickly and Bjornsson could get back in the ring.
There will be more updates provided on Hollingshead’s status as it becomes available. For more news and updates, follow Generation Iron on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Eddie Hall Tears Bicep, Fight With Hafthor Bjornsson Postponed

Eddie Hall Tears Bicep, Fight With Hafthor Bjornsson Postponed

Eddie Hall injures his bicep and the Hafthor Bjornsson bout has been postponed.
Well that’s disappointing. Eddie Hall has apparently tore his bicep and is out of his fight with Hafthor Bjornsson. That is definitely not the news anyone wanted to hear. Unfortunately the news is all too true.
It appears that Eddie Hall injured his bicep during his training for his bout with Hafthor Bjornsson. Apparently Eddie Hall threw a lead hook during his training and the muscle tore off the bone. Luckily the strongman was able to get the muscle reattached. The not so sunny news is that the bout with Bjornsson will have to wait.

This is a real bummer, especially since the fight was right around the corner. Both Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson seemed more than ready to get the show on the road. Unfortunately no one can predict an injury and the injury bug decided to rear it’s ugly, disruptive head just a month out from the big fight.
Eddie Hall went on to explain how the injury occurred. Suffice it to say the strongman was none too happy about the occurrence.

“I’ve had it [the biceps] reattached, which is the good news,” Hall said in a recent video. “All I did was throw a lazy hook — nothing too crazy, just a lazy hook to set up a backhand — and it just snapped off. It’s probably an underlying issue from strongman, probably half detached it and then the hook was enough to take the rest of it off and it rolled up my arm.”

You can see the full video of Eddie Hall here.
To be honest, Eddie Hall may have used some bad technique which is the real culprit. Bad technique can get you severely injured in this game. It’s why many brawlers have a short career in boxing an MMA versus the technically sound competitors.
Moving On
It appears that Hafthor Bjornsson isn’t planning on waiting for his foe to heal up. Instead Bjornsson has chosen to find another opponent for the September date. Bjornsson has already had a number of exhibition bouts over the past year, what’s another?

The only issue is all those tickets sold for a bout that won’t happen. It’s certainly a bitter pill to swallow. Likely refunds will be issued, but the whole situation is just unfortunate. The bout will eventually go down but until that day we’ll simply have to wait for Eddie Hall to heal and Hafthor Bjornsson to take another exhibition bout.
What do think of the Eddie Hall versus Hafthor Bjornsson fight being postponed?
