The Hadge Brothers Deadlift Some Insane Weight, Including a 905Lb PR

The Hadge Brothers displayed some crazy strength in their recent training.
The Hadge Brothers have taken their gains to new heights. The strongman competitors each showed how much stronger they’ve become in some recent training videos. While Zach Hadge is the more well known of the brothers, it’s Nick who really showed some out of this world strength.

Nick Hadge is an absolute beast. He’s grown stronger and stronger, so much so that his new personal record is reaching insane levels. In fact Nick was able to hit an impressive 905lb deadlift without a lifting suit. That kind of strength can only be improved upon.
The video clip below shows Nick Hadge showcasing his superhuman strength.
905 lb deadlift (no suit) *LIFETIME PR*
The people around me have enough confidence in me for me to have enough confidence in myself. It’s beautiful.
I fell off my longboard 3.5 weeks ago and haven’t deadlifted since then so this was an indicator day- it went well.
Also my mom was here today. The last time she saw me deadlift was when I set the junior world record deadlift at 815 in 2016. My team was there today as well. (Not all of my team) & I woke up uncontrollably focused. I placed my balisong in front of my bar.

Nick Hadge wasn’t the only one to showcase some impressive strength. Zach Hadge also impressed with some massive numbers in his recent training. Zach and his client Ted both pulled some great numbers on the deadlift for the latter’s birthday.
The saga continues…
Yesterday was one of those turning point days, and we could all feel it coming. I’ve been extra strict on my team, and even more so with myself lately. But I can see it actively paying off, so I’m not stopping.
Yesterday was extra special, not only because a bunch of us hit PRs, but it was my great friend and client Ted’s birthday. We have been hitting PRs together for over 5 years now, and you inspire me in and outside of the gym. I am extremely grateful for you and your amazing family. #teamWinston
Video 1: 765×4 (rep PR by Zach) I haven’t been able to workout much the last few weeks dealing with a stomach bug, but it looks like Nick and I benefited from our forced rest days.
Video 2: 515×1 (20lb PR by @twwinston) I remember your first 500 hex bar deadlift when you turned 50! Absolute pleasure celebrating another birthday with another PR. Congratulations brother, you are the epitome of what it means to be on Team Hadge. ??❤️

It’s clear that the Hadge Brothers and their team continuing to grow into truly impressive strength athletes. With numbers like these, the idea that Nick Hadge could possibly pull 1000lbs isn’t farfetched.
What do you think of the Hadge Brothers and their incredible strength?

Biography
Jerry was born December 18, 1980 in Phoenix, Arizona. Growing up, he has always been interested in strength training and the world of Strongman. At the age of 15, Jerry became a powerlifter.
In 2008, Jerry entered his first local Strongman contest in Phoenix and took second place. This gave him the fuel he needed to train harder and make it to the WSM contest. In 2013, Jerry won the Strongman Event at the LA Fit Expo. In 2014, he finished in the top 12 at the World’s Strongest Man contest in Los Angeles.
He also won America’s Strongest Man in 2017.

Training
Pritchett’s training centers around his Strongman desires and those of his powerlifting necessities. When it comes to his training plans, he tends to keep his sets shorter while juggling higher reps on some exercises and lower reps on others.
Here is a workout that Pritchett uses when looking to capitalize on his log press gains.

Shoulder Press with Log: 4-6 sets, 2-3 reps rising in weight
Seated Shoulder Press: 4 sets, 8-10 reps
Bench Press: 3-5 sets, 8-10 reps
Lateral Raise: 3-4 sets, 12-15 reps
Rear Delt Fly: 3 sets, 10-12 reps
Triceps Pushdown: 3 sets, 12 reps

He also does Zumba, yoga, and ballroom dance to change up his routine and add fun variety to his workouts.
Nutrition & Supplementation
When it comes to Pritchett’s nutrition and supplementation plan, he makes sure to get plenty of protein into his diet to capitalize on all his gains. While he uses his own choice of supplements, it is important to also have a great routine. For big lifts, a top tier pre-workout will give you those desired energy boosts and pumps to maximize gains and a protein powder can give you everything you need to see growth and assured recovery. Something like creatine or a mass gainer will really boost strength and size and a multivitamin can give you all the essentials so you never miss those in your diet.

The 2021 show will be even bigger than last year’s show. This year the World’s Strongest Man will take place in Sacramento, California.
World’s Strongest Man announced a multi year deal with the Visit Sacramento Sports Commission. This new deal with the VSSC will see the WSM competition take place in Sacramento, California in 2021, 2022, and a third date yet to be disclosed.
The competition will take place June 15-20 and will once again air on CBS Sports Network and CBS Television in the U.S. at a later date.
Can Oleksii Novikov Do It Again?
Besides the wondering what the new events will be like, the biggest question on the minds of many spectators is if Oleksii Novikov can repeat at the 2021 show.
Oleksii Novikov has only been competing for the past two years, yet he was able to achieve the heights of success in all of strongman sports. Novikov broke multiple records en route to his stunning victory at the 2020 World’s Strongest Man.

Eddie Hall Claps Back at Thor and Larry Wheels After Recent Post

Eddie Hall Claps Back at Thor and Larry Wheels After Recent Post

Eddie Hall fires back at Larry Wheels and Thor Bjornsson.
It appears that Eddie Hall has clapped back at Hafthor “Thor” Bjornsson and Larry Wheels. His vitriol was in response to a recent demeaning piece of artwork of the 2017 World’s Strongest Man has made the rounds.
The artwork definitely caught the attention of Eddie Hall. It has become obvious over the last several weeks who Larry Wheels is supporting in the battle between Eddie Hall and Thor Bjornsson. Larry Wheels made it a point to throw his support behind Bjornsson.

Brutal Artwork
But he didn’t do it in a particularly neutral manner. On the contrary. Larry Wheels let his support for Thor be screamed from the rooftops. A recent post on the powerlifter’s Instagram showcases a work of art that depicts Thor Bjornsson holding the severed head of Eddie Hall. You can see in the image below that the artwork leaves no room for interpretation.
*Viewer Discretion Advised
My prediction for the match

Suffice it to say, Eddie Hall wasn’t impressed by the post at all. The 2017 World’s Strongest Man had some choice words for the powerlifter who showed his support of Thor.
Eddie Hall followed up with another response, this time taking aim at Thor himself.
Great artwork from Thor and also great to see his professionalism and sportsmanlike behaviour has transferred over from strongman into boxing ?Iv never felt so confident over an upcoming fight in my life so stuff like this just makes me laugh. Il be sleeping like a baby after what I just saw at the weekend and that deluded numb nuts hasn’t a clue what’s coming ?

Clearly there is no love lost between the two World Strongest Man champions. Both men are itching to throw down at this point and with so much preparation, as well their natural dislike of each other, things are beginning to boil over.

Pay-Per-View Details Revealed
Besides these three trading barbs, insults, and artwork depictions of each other, it appears that more news about the fight has come out. A new poster was recently released revealing the other fights that will be on the Thor vs Hall card. It also gives details on how much the pay-per-view will cost.
Early bird PPV tickets are now on sale for $9.99. If you like extreme plastic surgery, you’ll love watching me give Eddie a much-needed facelift–maybe a nose job as well if he can stay standing long enough. In-house seats go on sale July 5th.

What do you think of this latest beef between Eddie Hall, Larry Wheels, and Thor?

Martins Licis to Host Behind The Scenes Look at 2021 World’s Strongest Man

Martins Licis is playing host at a behind the scenes event for this year’s World’s Strongest Man.
It appears that 2019 World’s Strongest Man champion Martins Licis is taking on a new role in his strongman career. The 2019 champ is set to be a behind the scenes host of the 2021 World’s Strongest Man alongside Nick English.

The World’s Strongest Man is a lens to see these men perform feats of strength in a manner that no other strength sport can provide. The storylines are already developing for the show taking place in Sacramento, California. One of those storylines is if the young Oleksii Novikov can repeat this year.
Novikov is one of the youngest champions to win the World’s Strongest Man. It will be intriguing to see if he can pull off another victory in 2021. But besides the competition itself, another storyline has been developing.

Taking On A New Role
Adding his name to the list of World’s Strongest Man champions in 2019, Martins Licis has since been sitting on the sidelines for quite some time now. Injuries and the global health crisis have kept him out of competition, but he’s been spending his time wisely. Now it appears that he has a new gig and that’s hosting the behind the scenes look at this year’s WSM.
So does taking this new gig mean that Martins Licis is hanging it up? According to the 2019 champ, that’s far from the case.
“After competing for many years, putting in the work and being in the grind, I’m grateful to sit back and support World’s Strongest Man as part of the online show this year,” said Licis. “Make no mistake, I’ll be coming back soon to smash some weights and take back the throne! However in the meantime, I’m excited to see who the champion will be, and which athletes will rise in this battle against gravity.”

“World’s Strongest Man: BACKSTAGE LIVE presented by SBD” is set to premiere on Thursday, June 3, 2021 along with a preview show. Daily coverage will follow from there covering the events of the 2021 WSM.

Hafthor Bjornsson Reveals The Training and Diet That Helped Him Drop 110Lbs

Hafthor Bjornsson Reveals The Training and Diet That Helped Him Drop 110Lbs

Hafthor Bjornsson reveals training and diet a week out from his next match.
Hafthor “Thor” Bjornsson has always been a beast of a man. Once weighing a massive 205kg (451lbs), Thor now tips the scales at 155kg (341lbs). See, still pretty massive. But despite that, dropping that amount of weight within the last year and a half is truly impressive.
155kg (341lbs) still sounds like a whole lot. But when you see the recent before and after Thor posted on his Instagram you can see how much his physique has changed. Thor has gone from massive and bulky to massive and shredded.

The Transformation of Hafthor Bjornsson
How did he do it? But remaining dedicated to his training for his upcoming battle with Eddie Hall. But that’s not all Thor has done to drop the weight. It required him to make a massive lifestyle change. Namely, Thor had to massively alter his diet in order to shed the fat and maintain his muscle mass.
From 205kg to 155kg. Swipe to see the difference. Filmed a whole day in my life the other day on my YouTube channel. Click the link my my bio to check it out and see my new daily diet!

Hafthor Bjornsson has definitely shown an incredible transformation. The 2018 World’s Strongest Man had to remain dedicated to his new boxing lifestyle in order to get it done. That and his new diet plan.
Thor recently posted a video all about his full day of eating and training. In the video he broke down his meals and an example of the type of training he does during his prep. In the video, Thor detailed his meals.
Hafthor Bjornsson Diet and Training Schedule
Meal One

3 eggs
200g chicken
Smoothie (150g green yogurt, 100g strawberries/blueberries, 40g oats)

Boxing Technique Workout
Meal Two

220g tenderloin beef
180g white rice
100g green vegetables

Weight Training
Meal Three

220g chicken
250g potatoes
100g green vegetables

Rest
Meal Four

220g salmon
100g green vegetables
100g white rice

Physical Therapy
Meal Five

250g greek yogurt
50g almond butter
100g bananas
1 scoop whey protein shake

“This is what I eat throughout the day,” said Bjornsson. “Can you believe it? I’m eating nothing, getting skinny. It’s crazy.”
“I feel so much better than I felt when I was 205kg,” Bjornsson continued.

“I was force feeding myself every single day, about to puke every single day. I kept eating because my goal was to be the strongest human on this Earth. Now I have different goals so I don’t have to be force feeding myself. Feels good.”
Just one week out from his next exhibition bout, Hafthor Bjornsson is looking sharp and ready for combat. With just a few more months until his bout with Eddie Hall, it appears that Thor has been doing everything possible to prepare himself. One thing is certain, Hall better be ready and fast.
What do you think about the diet and training of Hafthor Bjornsson?

Powerlifter John Haack Shows Impressive Strength as He Switches to Strongman

Powerlifter John Haack Shows Impressive Strength as He Switches to Strongman

John Haack is an absolute powerhouse.
One of the most impressive powerlifters in the game today, John Haack continues to build his legend. While powerlifting remains his focus it also appears that he’s setting out to try new things as he engages in some strongman training.

For the most part training in one modality is a great thing. One you put your sole focus into one particular endeavor it translates over to mastery. If you hope to become the master at a particular practice then it means performing or studying that action consistently and over a long period of time.
But while gaining mastery is a great thing, sticking with one thing can also make you stagnant. You want to have variety in your life and sticking to one way of doing things usually means a lack of diversity in your skillset.
John Haack is looking to be the absolute strongest he can be. That means pushing his mind and body in ways that go against the grain. While he’s certainly building his legend in powerlifting with some impressive performances, Haack has also looked to strongman training to improve his strength.
Recently the powerlifting champion trained in the log press, a staple of strongman training and competition.
Back in my strongman bullshit. Log clean and press for sets of 4 up to 250lbs and yoke for 50ft at 660lbs.

Now it appears that John Haack isn’t just dabbling in some strongman training. In fact, Haack is prepping for the official strongman games and is looking to test the waters in another competitive sport. His resolve to enter into a new arena after dominating the powerlifting scene shows that Haack is seeking a new challenge.

But while he may be breaking into strongman, John Haack is still maintaining strength through traditional lifting. In another training session, Haack hit squats and bench, though he reported feeling drained from the effort.
Sets of 8 on squat with 250kgs/551lbs. Felt absolutely drained for bench and only managed 7 reps at 187.5kgs/413lbs. This is when my test levels usually crash so not surprised this workout felt meh.

What do you think of John Haack entering a strongman competition?
