Strongwoman Lucy Underdown Locks Out 310-kg (683.4-lb) Unofficial Deadlift World Record & PR

Lucy Underdown is on a streak of hitting new personal records in training, and it doesn’t seem like she will stop any time soon. As everyone knows, Lucy’s greatest strength is her deadlift, but she has now taken it to a whole new level. She was already capable of playing around with the current World Record weight beforehand, but has now revealed what her current one rep deadlift max is. Moreover, she posted a video of her brand new 310-kilogram (683.4-pound) deadlift PR on Instagram.
Since Lucy Underdown holds the current World Record of 300 kilograms (661.4 pounds), it means that her new PR is also an Unofficial World Record. However, considering how incredibly heavy this lift is, Lucy made it look easier than expected. Moreover, she only used a lifting belt and lifting straps to unofficially break the World Record by 10 kilograms (22 pounds).
Lucy Underdown captioned the video with two questions. “How much more can I Pull?” and “Will I get 700lbs +?”. So, she is obviously not satisfied enough with this lift and hopes to lift even more. Lucy has also confirmed in one comment that she will be attempting to break the record in a Raw Strongman fashion. This means that she will not put on a deadlift suit for her official attempt, but will use lifting straps.

Lucy Underdown received an invite to the 2023 Giants Live World Deadlift Championships, which will take place on September 2nd, in Cardiff, Wales. She accepted and will be the only woman to take part in this competition alongside 15 men. Judging by her new deadlift PR, Lucy should crush the World Record, assuming that she remains injury free, which will hopefully be the case.
Only one other Strongwoman has shown deadlift prowess close to Lucy Underdown. That woman is Victoria Long, who deadlifted 297 kilograms (654.8 pounds) with ease just a few days ago at the 2023 Khaos Classic. However, Victoria then jumped straight to 700 pounds and injured her hamstring. So, Lucy is now aiming to set the World Record bar even higher, making it practically untouchable for almost anyone.
Lucy Underdown also set a 305-kilogram (672.4-pound) Deadlift World Record on a Kratos Barbell at the 2023 UK’s Strongest Woman competition. She took part in the full contest as well, losing the title in the final event to Rebecca Roberts. However, she already has some other titles to her name, having won Arnold’s UK Strongwoman Pro and England’s Strongest Woman competitions in 2022.

Related: Lucy Underdown Pulls a 302.5-kg (667-lb) Unofficial Strongwoman Deadlift World Record in Training
Lucy Underdown has not been solely focusing on the deadlifts in training. Instead, she has been getting stronger overall, which is clear from the fact that she set a new 120-kilogram (264.6-pound) Log Lift PR just two days ago. So, she could very well become the World’s Strongest Woman very soon or claim some other prestigious titles.

Powerlifter Jade Jacob Breaks Two Unofficial Deadlift & Total IPF World Records In Training

Powerlifter Jade Jacob Breaks Two Unofficial Deadlift & Total IPF World Records In Training

One of the biggest competitions in powerlifting is less than ten days away, as the 2023 IPF World Classic Open Powerlifting Championships will take place in Valletta, Malta, from June 11-18. Thus, the majority of World’s greatest powerlifters are almost at the peak of their physical shape. One of the participants in the aforementioned competition who has undoubtedly prepared exceptionally well is Jade Jacob. The French powerlifter fell just short of the IPF Worlds title in 2022, but she is now looking to amend herself with a win this year. Jade displayed her ambition by unofficially breaking the Deadlift and Total IPF World Records in her recent training session. Jade also shared all of her lifts from the workout on Instagram.
Jade Jacob started off her training session with a 180-kilogram (396.8-pound) squat, which is exactly the same weight as her competition PR. She then moved onto the bench press where she landed a 100-kilogram (220.5-pound) bench press. Like the squat, Jade’s bench press was also equal to her competition PR.
The real action started during the deadlift event when Jade Jacob managed to lock out 235 kilograms (518.1 pounds). This marked the first out of two Unofficial IPF World Records, as the current one was set by Jade herself at the 2023 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships. This competition took place just a few months ago and Jade set the record by deadlifting 231 kilograms (509.3 pounds).
By accumulating all three events, Jade Jacob’s Total came out to 515 kilograms (1,135.4 pounds). This is unofficially heavier than the current IPF World Record of 503.5 kilograms (1,110 pounds). The current record was also set by Jade at the same competition where she set the Deadlift World Record.

Jade Jacob has barely stepped into her 20s, so it is evident that she is still extremely young. However, she has already taken part in 18 sanctioned competitions and won nine of them. These include French National Championships and IPF Junior World Championships. Moreover, she holds multiple World Records and is now aiming to further improve them.
Jade Jacob usually competes in the 57-kilogram weight class and will look to do the same at the 2023 IPF Worlds. In addition, she hopes to win gold since only 0.5 kilograms (1.1 pounds) separated her from the winner in 2022. However, she is now outperforming the World Record. So, it is safe to say that she is the biggest favorite for the 2023 IPF World Classic Open World Championships.

Powerlifter Panagiotis Tarinidis Scores a 720-kg Unofficial Raw IPF Total World Record In Training

Powerlifter Panagiotis Tarinidis Scores a 720-kg Unofficial Raw IPF Total World Record In Training

France has a wealth of talent in the field of powerlifting, as many World Records in the sport are currently held by their athletes. However, Panagiotis Tarinidis is still looking to bring more achievements back home. Panagiotis has been training harder than ever in the past few months and has now Unofficially broken the IPF World Record Total. According to his Instagram, Panagiotis decided to test his max lifts in all three events during a recent training session. So, the accumulation of the three lifts came out to 720 kilograms (1,587.3 pounds), that is 9.5 kilograms (20.9 pounds) over the current U66KG IPF World Record Total.
Panagiotis Tarinidis started off his training session with a squat of 255 kilograms (562.2 pounds), which he performed in a raw fashion, that is with knee sleeves and a lifting belt.
The second lift of his training session was the bench press. Panagiotis managed to build up to 175 kilograms (385.5 pounds). The reason it’s so significant is that it’s 5 kilograms (11 pounds) heavier than his bench press competition PR.
Finally, Panagiotis Tarinidis proved why he is called the “King Of Grind” on the deadlifts. Utilizing a conventional stance and a mixed grip, Panagiotis decided to deadlift 290 kilograms (639.3 pounds) to wrap up his training session. Once the bar reached his knees, Panagiotis started struggling, but managed to cross the sticking point after a few seconds. In addition, this deadlift is 10 kilograms (22 pounds) heavier than Panagiotis Tarinidis’ competition PR.

Squat: 255 kilograms (562.2 pounds)

Deadlift: 290 kilograms (639.3 pounds)
Total: 720 kilograms (1,587.3 pounds) — Unofficial U66KG IPF World Record

*The current IPF World Record Raw Total of the 66-kilogram weight class currently stands at 710.5 kilograms (1,566.4 pounds). This record was set by Senumong Kasemsand at the 2022 AsianPF Asian Classic Powerlifting Championships.

Panagiotis Tarinidis is motivated to compete due to losing his IPF World Champion title in 2022. He originally won the 2021 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships, but only managed to get fifth-place in 2022. So, according to a rough translation of his Instagram caption, Panagiotis has his reasons for why he can’t lose this year.
The 2023 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships are set to take place in less than six weeks from now. The action will be taking place from June 11-18, in Valletta, Malta. So, Panagiotis Tarinidis is obviously in a very good place currently.
During his 7-year-long powerlifting career, Panagiotis Tarinidis has taken part in 23 sanctioned competitions. He has won ten competitions and was crowned the World, Europe, and National Champion.
