Does anyone workout while still sore?

So I know its not the greatest idea but I seem to get th best gains when I eat right and even hit the same body part while I am still sore from the last workout. My schedule kinda goes like this, monday-upper tue-cardio wed-lower thur-upper fri-cardio sat-lower sun-rest
So im still sore on upper days when it comes time to work again, most say im setting myself up for injury but I eat right and seem to make the best gains working out even if im still sore..what do you guys do?
wait till your not sore?
Go lighter?
switch up the workout?
dont go?

I've heard that you should let yourself recover fully, that is, no soreness before working that body part again. I'm sure we've all done it though. I try not to as I tend to overtrain anyway.

I have done it but most of the time I recover so quickly that I dont get sore

I'll workout if I'm sore, but if my bis are the muscles that are sore, I won't train them until they are recovered. If my legs are sore, I'll go in and train shoulders or something like that though

I was wondering if I still workout while a little sore if I will adapt and get sore less often and recover faster to train heavy again or would I just be doing damage to the muscles...thanks for the opinions.

you would be doing more harm then good, and no i dodnt htink it would make you get use to being sore nor help you recover any faster, the soreness is your muscle taring and repairing so to speak, and needs time to totaly repair itself before you tare the muscle up more, and thats in a round about way of how the muscle grows

Thanks for the opinions fellas, I staarted going heavier that normal and stay sore a few days longer, I cant stand not working out (no offense to anyone who cant, I hear ya) I feel lazy and I think it has become an obsession to work out even when im a little sore. I now look at it like this, its like an earthquake that hits a building and the guys are in repairing it(me being sore) and then when i work out again its like another earthquake and just doing more damage right? So should i take the time off and wait till im good to go again? Im not used to being sore for days but with the heavier training I am.

as long as ur working out a bodypart that isnt sore then ur fine, but i wouldnt go back in and train the same body part thats sore, thats definatly not a great idea

Thanks for the advice. Im just hitting that time when i peak out and dont usually get sore so i took time off and started back heavier at about 90% of my weight and do more reps 6-8 for 4 sets and ive noticed im actually sore now from it and i never was before, so maybe its helping to formulate new growth-strength has definately gone up.

You want longevity in this sport. To me it is a lifestyle not just a sport. Learn to listen to your body, it tells you things. Soreness means a great deal when looking at it from a physiological perspective. Let your body heal fully before exercising again. LIKE Presser said, your tearing tissue down when training.

lol Big, I hurt my back doing heavy squats apparently, I have been out for a while but my legs hurt like hell when i went 2 weeks with no deadweight squats..walked bowlegged for days. stairs became my mortal enemy.

Yea, squats are brutal when you just start them again. They murder me, I just did some insane reps today for squats so I'll be miserable tomorrow and Thursday

You have to listen to your body. I will occasionally train back when my biceps are still sore, but only if the soreness goes away after I'm warmed up and even then I will do movements that have as little bicep involvement as possible.
I can only train each bodypart (other than calves) once every 11 days or so. I've been doing this for almost 20 years and that how long it takes my body to recover from my training. It is what it is

Most I have waited is on heavy days (which was usually EOD) I had to wait 4 days because my brachialias muscles were so damn sore. Its the muscle that goes under your bi's for those who dont know. I was doing 80 pound preacher curls on the bench, my arms wouldnt even bend straight without pain..lol

Wow man, 11 days, that's crazy, so how does your training split look by doing that?

I do
1. Chest, biceps, calves
2. Back, traps, calves
3. Shoulders, Triceps
4. Quads, Hamstrings, and sometimes calves.
There isn't a set schedule, but with the rare exception I never train two days in a row. Sometimes I go 3 days between training days. Every workout has to beat the previous one.
