Doc suspects I use AAS

About a month back I went to have a regular check-up for a common medical condition. It was all kind of strange. One of the first things he asked me to do was get on the scales(WTF?). Well, I got on the scales then next thing he was taking my blood pressure, pretty unusual for Asthma huh? :suspect:
My doc does knows that I am a former competitive athlete and that I am heavy into weight training. Next thing he was saying "Whoa, you have put on a lot of weight, how have you done this?". Later on in the consultation we were discussing asthma medications he asked, "So, what drugs are you currently taking at the moment". I replied with all presciption drugs I was using, then he said, "Any other drugs?"(WTF?!)... "No".
Well that was all very weird. Things get even weirder when I recently went to see the doc to give me something to help me sleep. I told the doc that I was really struggling to get a proper night's sleep. Things went along these lines....

DOC: "How long has this been going on for?"
ME: "It's only been this bad for a couple weeks or so but it has got worse recently for some reason."
DOC: "Have you been under a lot of stress lately?"
ME: "No, nothing unusual"
DOC: "Do you have any ideas why you can't sleep?"
ME: "No"
DOC: "Are you taking any supplements...."
(then with a suspect look he ask's) "any SPECIAL supplements?" (WTF?!!! yeah creatine doc, SPECIAL creatine LOL :D)

Like I am really going to take a risk and say that I use AAS.
Give it a break already doc! The answer will always be NO. NO, NO, NO, NO, and NO!

Some one not on gear in bulk season or just some lard butt can just eat massive amounts of food and stack on weight rapidly unless your metab is out of the roof but still in that case peeps claim they eat so much but from what I notice most dont eat a quater of what they claim....... I say it would be good to get on with your DR or another who can moniter you and run blood test to moniter your health and even perscribe you the right meds that you need :D you would be surpise how many Doctors and clinics can get you on and do all of the above for a decent price and keep your records away from other eyes.....

Bro I know you might be paranoid about letting people know about your use but its better that he knows. There is a thing called doctor patient confedentuality rule. Plus he can check up on how your test and liver values are, these are very important things to watch out for when using AS. I always keep an open relationship with my doctor so he knows how to help me best when something wrong does happen. Remember, your doctor won't rat you out for what your doing. And he can help you stay on a healthy path if you are going to use.

my doc is my mother in law so she knows lol....but the thing with tellin your doc is he must be cool..cuz he can tell your insurence company and they cn deny you reatment for things sayin you brought it on yourself..i know someone this happened too

:)

Irishpride has a point about telling your doc about it concerning insurance issues. this could have effects on coverage adn future issues.

Now my opinion abotu telling your doc, is that he could help you monitor for certain issues, and sides. If you were my patient, I would not tell insurance, but instead help you effectively monitor and safely administer AS. It is some issues to conseider, you may want to ask your doctor hypothetically concerning these issues and if he would report the hypothetical patient to the insurance company, i.e. job, etc., In most cases they won't b/c a physician's primary purpose is to care and treat his patient and he won't be able to do this if you don't trust him completely....

Goodluck and let us know how it goes.

I don't think you should tell your doc. First most don't know the first thing about AS -only what they learned in med school. Second, I told my last doc that I had taken some and he began to ask me where and from who. I switched docs soon after that.

I went to the doctors last week and they checked my blood pressure 4 times. They kept asking me if I had a lot of caffene or if I was nervous. I was thinking, "It's probably all the tren I have pumping through my body"

I just said I was nervous when seeing doctors.

Exactly. I feel doctors know very little on the subject of AAS. The first thing they will do is try to get you off AAS altogether. When they think of AAS, they think the big bad boogie monster, look at how the media responds! I am skeptical of doctor/patient confidentiality. In the perfect world I would have no problem letting my doc know, in fact I would wan't to have blood tests done know and then. At the moment I just lie about symptoms so I can get a test done to see everything is alright with liver and kidneys.
I am interested to hear of those who HONESTLY are open with their doc and don't have a medical condition for the use of AAS. To those of you who are, are you under 35?, do you live in a slighty conservative region or more liberal(doesn't matter what country, as long as it is considered a "controlled substance")?

Bullshit.

Not bullshit. The doctor confidentiality is very suspect with the recent rulings of the supreme court on HMO's. Also state law governs the degree of such confidentialities...i.e compare California with Delaware.
The safest docs are in Forida, and you can get them online with the use of a pseudonym (but don't try to use the scripts if you use a pseudonym).

Having a honest relationship with your doctor is crucial for your health...why even go if you can't be honest. But yes on the flip side, the insurance companies have full access to your records, so if you have a good relationship with you doc there are ways around the issues...not lying of course, but bending the truth a little, and of course keeping yourself in good health, and seeing them in beetween times if at all possible.

peace

it's a pretty sad situation when we can't even trust our doctors-because we afraid he'll use it against us to screw us out of insurance coverage..I don't have insurance so I guess I can tell em anything-I've actually never even injected myself, I always stop by the clinic where the doctor I use is and the girl there has always done it for me for about $1 each time..
