Some measurements

you will probably always have skinny forearms in comparison to everything else (that will probably grow much larger over the years if you stick with it).

but when you get access to some good weights, heavy strict curls for arms and heavy deadlifts will help build up your forearms and grip strength faster than any hand grips.

I use straps, I have to. I workout my forearms on bicept day. Pinwheel curls are good.
 
Reverse grip curls baby! nothing better for popeye forearms...

sorry to hear about you gma bud...go get some free weights and do some pushups and shit at home if you can...also get urself some whey protein or nlarge and eat clean and the size will come..

now eat as much meat as humanly possible and eat pasta..
