hahaha thanks everyone, come on Presser you should know that. 90 degree heat = shitty 1/4 mile times, where as 50s= amazing
 
Air density affects a car's horsepower, and hence, performance. That's why all the drag racers like to race at Maryland International Raceway. That place has the lowest air density in the country.

Nice Big, my buddy's ford diesel is allegedly over 1000hp and not that much less torque. He did all the typical diesel stuff, bigger exhaust all the way back, badass programmer, egr delete, new cooling piping.
Do you have a track down your way?

Ya there is a track down here, but it will be a while. Being a Chevy guy all you here is how Duramax this and how its better than all the others... Now I'm learning about all the stuff that needs to be upgraded before making big power. Even front end parts like pitman and idler arms and tie rods. Regardless, to make over like 600hp all of the trucks need bigger injectors, fuel pumps, turbos, built transmissions, etc. to do over say 650 daily driver is about $20k or more. I'd like to make about 600hp daily with the ability to turn up the tune to about 800 ish. That's the really nice thing about the diesels. My truck has 7 tunes that are accessed by the push of a button. From stock all the way to about 550rwhp on my big tune.

ALL diesels make more torque than HP. The Ford 6.4l with the compound turbos can make pretty good power with out crazy upgrades, but 1000hp is MASSIVE MODIFICATIONS.

you running a cold air intake?

No. On my model (LMM) the intake isn't a restriction until the turbo is upgraded. I could run a 550 tune all day if my trans was built, but that will be a bit as its like $4K plus install. The wheels and tires were $2500 and I just got them like 3 weeks ago.
Everything I want, Silk wants so its double the cost. Wheels and tires for her are next, then stereos for both
 
just wondering, do you have an electronic brake and if so do you run it all the time???

I run mine all the time was told it helps clean the turbo booster

after I get some bills caught up I plan on getting a cold air intake, EGR and DPF delete kit, and H&S tuner
 
all that emission shit they put on the diesel trucks just cause problems

best way I heard it described is imagine a big linebacker with a lot of power, now he can't breath (EGR) and he can't shit (DPF)-once you delete those the linebacker feels much better and he can work better

he sent me a dyno of someone that has everything he does, plus a built tranny. He wants to do a high stall next too, but I told him for a DD u dont wanna go too high of a stall
