Grocery List

H20

Im a newbie looking for some advice in the food department. Im 19 with a good base knowledge of training, but i lack in the area of diet. Im 5'8" ... 170 and looking to put on some size over the winter. Im planning to go grocery shopping tonight for this week so any advice on what to get would be great. thanks.

Eggs, fish (Talapia is cheap), chicken, red meat, oatmeal, rice, milk, bannanas, apples, vegies....my main goal when shopping is to buy food with nutritional value, and then again if you are bulking toss in some ice cream, coconut milk....and I always will eat something at night if I wake up, but never set an alarm and interupt your sleep.
Another thing I try to do is take one night, prepare some meals and freeze them, then take it out the night before..
if you are 19...you can probably eat a ton of food...make sure you ingesting something every 2-3 hours, getting good rest, and not overtraining.

peace

These are not diet recommendations. I suggest the following books for the sole purpose of getting an understanding of why foods do different things. And to let you make educated decisions as to what to put on a menu.
The Zone By Barry Sears
Protein Power By Michael and Mary Eades
The Greenwich Diet.

Natural peanut butter, throw it in your shakes, banana and pb sandwiches are damn good too.

If you don't want to go to Sam's walmart is pretty close in price. I usually get: lean hamburger or turkey patties, cans of refried beans, eggs, chicken tenders, 2 or 3 gallons of milk, some tuna, some rice and a couple gallons of spring water.

About how much of everything should i be taking in? example| carbs, cals, pro, fats ... thanx for the advice up until this point tho.

You need to get some albacore tuna. Safeway/Albertsons type grocery stores usually have a brand on sale for a buck a can. Costco is cheaper.

You're going to need some boneless, skinless chichen breats (frozen). These are so clutch!!!

Ground beef like a mofo.

Get some ground suasage too so you can make meatloaf.

If you can find some lunch meats at a good price, go for it. I'm not talking that terrible processed shit either. Try to stay away from the bolonga too. Ham, turkey, roast beef are my favorites.

Eggs. They're so cheap and oh so clutch. Get a bunch of them, you go through them quickly.

Fat free milk, a couple gallons. Why not add 20 grams of protein to each shake?

If you can find any deals on steaks or fish, go for it.

A thing or two of the double stuffed oreos. Maybe some Mothers cookie parade cookies too.

You may need bread. I usually eat muy lunch meats plain, but most prefer some bread. Bread is bread, white, wheat, who gives?

Get some juice. Don't go overboard with it, just a little. So you can have some for breakfast or post workout. Orange and grape are my favorites.

Bananas are clutch too.

Get some potatoes, they're cheap and they're handy.

Those frozen hamburger patties really come through. Matter of fact, I'm making 4 of them as we speak.

If you have any money left over get a snickers at the checkout line.

this is why jay's almost 300lbs, he knows how to eat. you my boy jay, you my boy. the only thing i'd say is to press the hell out of your hamburger patties after their cooked to get rid of the grease.
