Wow, some interesting opinons here...
Im very non-political and I have never cared to follow politics, at all. Im just a common guy working my @ss off like the next guy, trying to support myself and my family.
I happen to be in the wholesale car business and 2008 was my most profitable year, and 2009 was my worst year. 2010 is the decade mark for my business and things are starting to look up for me. Dont get me wrong, the business has changed and I lost nearly everything in 2009 like everyone else. I just choose to stay positive and keep hammering away everyday and so far things are starting to turn around for my situation.
I predict that 2010 will be the start of the comebacks for business's in various industries, not all industries. I agree that we are not done with the fall of the housing markets, but I think with some consumer spending thats noticed in the stock market things will gradually roll again this year. I think things will only gradually start rolling until banks start lending money again, which is the real root of the problem taking politics our of the equation. If banks dont loan money so people can buy things, industries lay off uneeded workers, laid off workers cant pay house payments, and so on and so on...
Most people like me lost or nearly lost everything in early 2009, mine started slipping off in late 2008. I have already went through the "adjusted cost of living" and if business stayed slow I can still survive as I have lost all I can loose and adjusted my spending to the current economy. If business continues to pick up I can put money away or be spending money. I would hate to be one of those people who has stressed to hold on to everything right now.. Looking back Im glad I shed all my excess stuff and moved on...my life is so much simpler now...
Just my thoughts..
