That's how I felt man, I saw a national level show and saw the pros guest pose and I was hooked. I'm still hooked actually although I haven't competed in 3 years

Yea its crazy, its like a big ass pump of motivation to destory the gym and get on stage. Are you planning on competing again any time soon.

May, that's my next show. I was going to do the show this year, but I wasn't near where I wanted to be after my injury so I figured I'd give myself a year of training and gaining to get where I need to be

I hear you brutha, i should have done a show already but in the end of everything i drop out cause of personal issues in life and didnt my the mental game there, how you looking? Have you recover ur gains from your injury. My first show is in april, hoping to do good cause the local show turn into a national qualifier, but also planning in doing another in july southern states in ft.lauderdale fl. Any advice in what to expect or to prepare for.

I think we have a couple of guys here doing the Southern States this year.

Oh yea I gotta find out who then. I am planning to go down to see it to check it out. I have family that live in miami just hoping to get the time off from work.

Before my injury I was powerlifting (that's the initial cause for the injury). I was weighing a little over 180 with around 12% bodyfat and strong. I broke my humerus, sat out for at least 9 months, just got back into it seriously in January. I dropped all the way down to just under 140, I'm back up to 165 now, my strength is completely back, my weight is down, but I'm holding around 7-9% bodyfat if that. That's just my guess from looking in the mirror, I have a handheld reader, but haven't used it lately. So overall, I'm back in everything except weight, but to put 25 pounds on and it be mainly muscle, I'm not complaining. I look bigger now than I did at 180+ because the bodyfat is down and it's just that bodybuilding illusion

I'm doing the Southern States. As far as what to expect it depends on who shows up although it tends to draw so good competitors. I've got quite a few people going with me so look for the MC shirts!! You definately won't miss my wife and her friend in theirs!!
A first show is addicting. The energy is amazing. Maybe it's what crack is like?

Well damn bro that's good stuff well not the injury but gaining back 25lbs of muscle and look better now than u did at ur original weight, I would take that any day. I can relate in a way well not injury but earlier this year I came up to northern fl at 265, decide to change up diet drop fat percent and now look bigger at 240 then I did at 265 so I am happy just wish I can pack on a lil more muscle mass. So are you gonna stay competing in powerlifting or compete in bodybuilding, or hell just do both like johnny jackson.

Gotcha brutha I will check to see if any cheap flights to miami cause I would like to see what I will be in and support the MC team. Hoping my shirt gets in before the show so I can represent as well.

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to scout the show, if you plan on doing it next year. I wish I could make it down there and meet some of the guys too.

Yea that would be fun the MC guys get together. I wonder if we find a show that's in a good location and see how many of the MC crew can show up. I know the wife and myself are planning to go to the arnold classics next year, I wonder if anyone would want to go.

Is that in Ohio? Sounds like a great idea.

I would like to do both, but it's hard to powerlift lean. I'm a little scared to go back to lifting heavy especially in bench as that's what got me before, but who knows. My old training partner for powerlifting is a top bencher in the country, but me and him don't see eye to eye anymore, a lot of personal bullshit so we don't even speak anymore so I really would be training on my own and it's hard to do that for powerlifting

Go for it bro do both, dont be scare from benching I know it cause your injury. Just learn from it and rebuild. Have you tried to just do incline bench for the mean time. Flat is usually what will cause injury. And it sucks not to have a partner, I am doing a powerlifting structure right now for the next two months for strength and growth, let me tell you I couldn't do this shit without a partner. The shitty part is its not even about the strength to get the weight up its more mental than anything.
