I've always worked out, but I've stayed pretty skinny overall. Summer of 2010 I was still about 160 pounds and I'm 6' tall. I've gained about 30 pounds since then and I can see a difference, but nothing huge I guess. But, I'm getting lots of comments about how big I am. Even some "jokes" about being on steroids. It still seems strange to me, because I don't feel like I'm all that big.

Do you bigger guys get constant comments about your size?

I get it all the time from people.. But I get it more from family.. But I still feel like I'm the skinny guy that is 170 lbs... Sometime it is cool say that you are a big guy.. But there are alot of times that it pisses me the off.. They think just because you are big that you can do anything or kick any bodys ass.. Themkind of people just pissese the fuck off.

I have heard them all! Dont like going out in public much, due to people and there dumb comments.

190 lbs at 6' is bigger than the average guy, so it's understandable you'd get comments because you ARE a big guy. You just don't see it because you always see yourself. I'm the same way at 210. I went through the drive-thru at a fast-food place for lunch today, and the lady hands me my order (she's an older lady with an accent, she isn't from the U.S.) and says, "Here you go, my muscle man," and then makes the flexing motion with her arms, lol. She was being cute in making a compliment so it made me smile. Another time earlier, I had a bagger at the grocery store blurt out, "Do you use steroids?" in a pretty loud voice. You get all sorts.

I'm sure the bigger guys get even more comments, maybe more on the negative side I would guess.

True that. One thing I'll add is that spending your time on this board or others like it will distort your idea of "big" because you constantly see the .5% of the population that are freaks.

If you look at it like this: those who makes comments in jest or as compliments are being nice and are expressing admiration for a well-developed physique; those who make malicious comments do so out of jealousy because they wish they had a physique like yours. When you think of it on those terms, it's really a compliment either way. :)

And yes, I get comments of both types, I just take them in stride. I'm pretty thick-skinned though. Heck, my wife calls me a gorilla, lol.

I get comments that I look big, but I'm certainly not big by any means. I'm small as shit, but I'm just lean and vascular so it appears that I am bigger than I am. I'm 5'8" and I'd love to be 190 right now, but maybe here in a year or so

Yeah im 6' 230 and i was told by a lady from Texas Im built like a brick shit house..lol whatever the hell that means. I too get the comments, especially when i ask for help on something its always " you mean a big guy like yourself cant do it alone" wtf? I work with athletes and if I were smaller in size Im sure i would get that end of the stick too.

that's a big 10/4, I live in the bible belt and you want to talk about a bunch of hillbillies:dizzy:

usually I just ignore them, but when me and my girl go out and they start saying back woods hill billy horse shit-if you can dish it out you better be able to take it...

I get a few drinksdown me and I'm in a pissed off mood, after a few comments from them the asshole in me starts to come out-fuck 'em-I'm talking a bunch of toothless inbreed hillbillies here-serious they really are

THEM: Holy dawg, look at them muscles on that bitch, she has more muscles than my pulling mule
ME: Looking at something Joe Bob???
THEM: Just mind your never mind boy
ME: You been circumcised yet? Cause I can kick your Mom in under the jaw...

I'm starting to take the comments as compliments. At first, I just thought people were messing with me, but now I'm getting them so frequently that I'm starting to realize that these people are serious. I mean this is what we all want, right? To walk down the street and have people stare? I'm not there yet, but maybe one day.

Ox you live in the dirty south, not sure what part (some parts are cooler than others) but there are certain days that the hill hicks come out of the wood works, you ever get some inbred looks and comments?

Dorian123 I thought you were in Florida did you come to Missouri lol no one here has teeth and all the women look like Grimace.

When I visit the in-laws in Kentucky, I get more looks and comments. The part of Tennessee I live in has tons of gyms and lots of in shape people.

I get this from my in- laws all the time . It gets old fast like I don't want to go around them at all. But I really never did before.. lol

I use to live in FL-dirty south now

you must be around Nashville or Chatt. area because I live on the east side and there's a ton of pigs running around here...yeah there are some in shape people around here but the pigs outweigh them

It's crazy, I mean these fucking people are stupid as hell. There's so many hill jacks here that it'll make you sick. It's not the comments that they say, but no matter what you look like, if you go to the gym, you're on steroids. Even the guys that have dinner table bellies are "on." I mean these guys here are insane, this is half the reason I love being in Pittsburgh a lot more than being back home.

My soon to be ex-wife is having me tested. I get looks all the time. I know that I look bigger than the average guy but thugs with dreads slip by and people look at me like I stole their baby. I want to say "Get in my belly!!!". Like on austin powers.
I need more lifters here where I live.
