My biggest pet peeve in the gym (aside from the people) is when they have those damn collars around the benches. There is no need to use collars when you are bench pressing. And if you don't know what I'm talking about it's the springy things or the hard round plastic things you slip on the end of the bar to keep the weights in place. Olympic size bars have about a foot on each end and 45 pound plates don't slide very easily, so if you are in danger of your weight sliding off the bar on bench press then you don't know what the hell you are doing.

Also, if you ever get stuck under too much weight your best bet is to try to dump the weight off one side of the bar, which you can't do with the collars on. Do not ever bench alone with the collars on!!! It is dangerous!!!

A foot on each end? How much are you benching, i have about 3 inches at the end of my plates,lmao

hahahahahhaa ohhhhh man 2 25 pound plates apparently leave exactly 1 foot on either side lol.
I use the collars when I use the bench but im mostly on dumbbells
 
one dude at my gym leaves his cell phone under the plate tree..some day im planning to lose my grip and crush it
 
the athletic club in my town has beer on tap in the concession area for post workout!!!
 
Very true .... People sit there on the bench and talk and talk and they probably do 1 lift and sit back and talk or txt

GET THE F*#K OFF THE BENCH .. please ..

I will take my phone in the gym, but I still have the same amount of time in between sets. I've seen guys that will have a 60 second pause in between sets then have like a 5 minute break because they're texting or calling someone. In this case, if I need the machine they are using, they're shit out of luck and can fight me for it if they so please
 
People with new year goals.. And then they stop coming after a few weeks.. I hate that time of the year.. they are in the way because they don't know wat they are doing !!

Funny you should post that but my trainer who owns his own gym and is ex professional BB, loves Country and plays it quite a bit in his gym I dont mind it but not when working out/ But its not the old time, its the newer stuff
