best time for cardio

ok , so i was looking for a few opinions

i was thinking of doing a show in 18 weeks or so, and wanted some in put on when the best time is to do cardio. i usually always do it after the workout, but i was thinking of switching it up and doing it in the am. i was to do that, can i still eat my oats and whey when i wake up?
 
It depends on your body. Alot of people will vouch for it being the best thing to burn fat by not eating and going straight in for cardio, but as for me, I would get hypo and shaky and risk passing out, or just feeling like shit if I did that.
 
I do think that cardio after working out isn't best. You're tired and you cant put 100% into your cardio. I do think switching it up throughout the day is best (whether you do it in the morning or not doesnt matter much in that regard).

Now as for the cardio on an empty stomach thing, I do think it works. But I also think it makes ectomorphic people burn alot of muscle too.
 
The best time boils down to when you do it, it doesn't matter when, just that you do it. Dough boys like myself should be doing cardio daily and I do, after weights, by itself , never before lifting, saps my strength. Just do it
 
I have always done it first thing in the AM on an empty stomach and take an ECA stack.

my trainer taught me to have whey and oats in the am to help balance my blood sugar levels and in turn an 1/2 after eating i burn more calories than on an empty stomach and reduce the risk of losing any muscle mass
 
I do it first thing in the AM most of the time with an ECA stack and 20g BCAA's. Seems to be working. I haven't lost an ounce of strength and I'm definately losing fat!
 
cardio in the am on an empty stomach seems to burn the most fat, some also say it also aids in keeping your metabolism elevated throughout the whole day.

Personally i cant even take a dump in the morning without eating first. even just a piece of brown toast just to kickstart my metabolism, . Also i have the theory that if you dont eat for a good 1-2 hours after waking your body will go into "survival mode" and store what ever food you give it after fasting as fat incase it needs to prep itself for starvation again

this sounds better for me
 
Am with no food or little food helps try eating an apple or a protein shake w/water and with half a scoop of protein. In the Am it helps keep the metabolism up so you continue to burn all day. On cardio days I do low carb. Try not to do cardio after a workout. You need to eat right after and doing cardio can make you become catabolic and start breaking down muscle instead of burning off fat. (this may be a myth but has not worked well for me) I also do not eat an hour after cardio and stay light on cardio days with min carbs and high protein. Am or late Pm will work good, am is best though with light meals if you get hypo like an apple or some low glycemic fruit or even oats but remember they swell and may make you feel sluggish some and wait an hour before you eat afterwards, try a sports drink during or after your workout to help with electrolytes so you dont feel that way not more than 32oz. I went from 14%Bf to 8%BF doing this. Good luck.
