YEAH I see that...I disagree though about the mirror! The mirror WILL LIE to you, but pictures NEVER lie! We tend to see what we want in the mirror.

thats really funny that u say that, means im not crazy. I will look good in the mirror, take a pic and it will look like shit, and I will look at the mirror again confused as hell, damn you brain always messing with us. Im guessing that why people think they look the best right after sex, is the hormones lieing to you

and Former remember using that huge garbage scale a couple times a shift? hahaha

The best mirror is when your walking up to a store front or such, and you see your reflection, I always look like such a ham and put on my watermelon farmer strut when I see that hunk looking back at me!

i very rarely check my weight only if im a few weeks out of contest... mirrior NEVER lies

umm, rightttt.

You can look like two different people just by looking in two different mirrors.

This! Talk about a mindfuck...

Usually I hate fitting room mirrors, but if you ever wanna feel good about yourself, grab some tshirts or something and hit the fitting room at target just to have an excuse to disrobe in there. I swear... every single Target I've ever been to is the same way. I could be having a crappy day, then go to Target and suddenly, I'm like "damnnn, I look good!" lol. I always go in a corner room too, so you get two mirrors and can check yourself from the front and back at the same time... total ego booster!

i luv change rooms for this reason too. the lighting is usually right over head so you get great shadowing over yopur body, it makes all your rips stand out more.

ps. Steph your bod is unreal! i dont see why you would need to go into target change rooms to feel good about yourself

Not all of them... sometimes I avoid them like the plague. If you're having a good day and you go into one that makes you look like shit, it has the opposite effect. :(

But thanks, Boomer... dieting hard for the last 15 weeks... glad it's paying off!

The mirror and scale is/will always be a mind fuck for us people, especially us in this sport with the goals that we are trying to achieve. No matter what, we will be our most harsh and biggest critic ever, no matter what people say, or the mirror looks like, or what the scale is displaying, it's us in the end that just have to take the good days with the bad and stay head strong and keep determined and focused. Cause we can and will be better tomorrow then what we are today!
It's the community of BB'ers and people alike, that help us critic us where it is most needed, and say the right things when it is most needed to be heard. Funny thing is, we are a rare type of people and none can understand nor fathom what it can be like.

Keep ur chin up with your diet, looks fantastic!:bber:

^Agreed. Everyone in the world can tell me I look fantastic, but if I'm having a fat day and not feeling right, it doesn't matter what anyone else says. We are always our own worst critics!

I know alot of females feel this way about the scale and the mirror, so it's nice to know we aren't alone... guess it's just a side effect of being health/fitness/physique-obsessed!

Sometimes I wish I could go back to not giving a damn, but then I look at old pix of myself and realize how much happier I am now... even if it drives me nutso a little bit.

Steph, Your already on the right track. 1) Realizing that you WILL have fat/frumpy days, and others you will feel like dynamite.Serotonin(5-HT) , it's a great thing aint it? lol
2) Knowing that you will always battle yourself, but that's the best part tho. Cause you are your own self driven, self seeking, personal motivator that will not settle for less. Having high expectations for yourself and demanding better of yourself is not always such a bad thing. Motivation applied with action after all gets us results, no?;)

And far as females vs males, at the end of the day and the last time I looked we were ALL humans, and very much alike in so many ways. Exceptionally in this sport/lifestyle. I know speaking for myself, I tend to be harsh and judgmental on my imperfections on every which way. The nature of the beast my friend!

One thing I have learned for certain about myself tho , I found that I have very tough skin and take criticisms well, because I have a hard-ass as a master/teacher, myself!
Whats that saying? He that is taught only by himself, has a fool for a master! well not in this case, cause it is much needed if I strive to look and feel at my best even when I feel at my worse! -Me

The scale is the biggest mind fuck ever, period!

I'd have to agree with you 100%. I don't think I look ANYTHING like my weight actually is. I'll try to get pics and see what you guys think I look like. I only weigh myself every couple weeks just to see, but I take much from it at all

You sound a lot like my girl. She's constantly talking about being a few pounds heavier or lighter than she was at X point in life. I tell her all the time you have to go by the way you feel, not by what the scale says.

No you look good after sex because your arms, shoulders and chest are pumped. Lol
