Carbs and Protein Menu

Im trying to put together a menu or list of foods that are best for growth.
CARBS
1. yams (micowave about 4 min)
2. Oatmeal (been great threads here)
3. bananas
4. cream of wheat
5. Red Potatoes (I like them)
6. Rice (brown)
7. Long grain bread
8. Fruits, some better than others for simple carbs
9. Wheat pasta
Protein
1. beef
2. chicken ( I eat thighs, cant stomach breast)
3. eggs
4. fish
5. Peanut Butter
6. Nuts (almonds/cashews at costco best)
7. Beef jerky (watch salt)
** Please any suggestions as best places to buy and prepare and add to list. Thanks
 
Has anyone ever tried p28 high protein bread? I wanna try it as soon as I'm done "dieting" and can explore with some variety in my menu...

Aren't chicken thighs not good for you because they have too much cholesterol? I thought I heard that once... I don't like breasts either (too thick), so I buy tenders and rip the tender out after they are cooked and cooled. Either that, or I buy the thin sliced breasts, but I prefer the tenders.

For carbs, what about quinoa? For some reason this week, I'm craving this hardcore... it's one of the few starch foods that is also a complete protein. Quinoa with mixed grilled veggies (asparagus, red/yellow/orange bell peppers, red onion, broccoli florets)... I could picture it now! lol
