Chest and Back together..

I've read of guys here like Nuk and Chris doing this. I tried it today and it wasn't bad... but it wasnt anything worth mentioning either. I did cable flyes, incline hammer, then cable Pulldowns, then flat Hammer, then Strive Rows, then Pec Deck, and last was one arm cable rows. I really didn't see what all the hype was about. My pump was very good (I'm on MC IGF), but wasn't any better than other times and my strength wasn't unusual either. I was gassed at the end.
So what's the hype about? What did I miss? Who has done this?
 
I always learned that its not beneficial to do large muscle groups together? I mean I've done chest and hamstrings before but didn't really like it. Just felt like I couldnt put the intensity in the second muscle worked. But everyones body is diff.
 
I have done chest and back in a superset style just to break it up for the day. Like a set of bench then right
to lat pull. Thats one set. Mabey four sets then pick two other exercises and so on. Sometimes I do it just
to get out of the rut if Im not in the mood to work out.
 
I'm definitely not use to doing both together. I did chest yesterday and there is no way I could have done back. My back workouts are just as intense as my leg days to the point of almost puking.
 
I used to do push/pull training a lot (back/chest, bi/tri) and loved it. It takes some getting used to because of the volume, but it's nice in the end
 
I decided to give it a try as my last few back workouts weren't very good due to issues with my back. I'm hoping to get back on track with it this week. I was on vacation last week and didn't want a slip up training back to land me in bed for 3 days again

So I'm a bit confused, is the push/pull principle where you do your pushing movements all on one day? Then next your pulling ones?

Push/Pull is the combo of two different muscle groups in one session, whereas one muscle group is trained primarily with pulling exercises, ie Back, and the other is trained primarily with Pushing exercises, ie Chest.

I only do this routine myself for strength it is very important to not overtrain or overtax muscles that overlap...Some guys do back biceps..overlap...chest triceps...overlap for example

Back/Chest will show gains in time, I find most effective that I warmup my back with super light weights, then hit chest and then return to back at the end of the workout after chest for best results.
 
Push / Pull is suppose to be done all in same exercise, not all your bodyparts done pushed and then all your other bodyparts pulled,

The original Push Pull pricipal, is suppose to be back to back, but I guess whatever works for ya right!
 
OK so lets say your going to push/pull....so Monday you do all your pushing, like Chest, shoulders & Tris, then Tuesday you work the pulling ones, Back and bi's. Is this correct?

Back in the day push pulls were described as like super setting bi and tri like doing a set of curls then a set of tricep push downs . Back and chest push pulls were you doing a set of bench press then going over and doing a set of seated rows for back. And you would keep going back and forth like that and that's what we called Push/Pulls back in the day lol maybe 10-15 years ago

I use to lime switching it up and doing it once in a while . So push pulls were like super setting two opposing muscles set for set....push / pull!
 
I think where a lot of people get confused on this, is they think chest is a major large muscle group, and it is not. People just love to train chest.

I fucking hate training chest lol!

I agree it is a small target and in my experience 3-4 movements of about 10-12 sets worked for me. Heavy though
 
I have train chest and back together many of times.. I love to flat bench.. I always flat bench on back day for my last workout.
