How many of you vets, believe in growing into a show. What I mean is really growing, not just gaining back muscle after having a lazy offseason. I feel like right now, im growing really well, at a very lean bodyweight. I mean, im around 245-247lbs now, but looking very lean. Each week, im getting bigger. Not really getting to much leaner (still got 13 weeks), but im really growing into this show. I know I started out from being in contest shape, but I feel like I have put on a solid 4-5lbs of muscle since my state show. Have you guys done a show, then do another show 15-20 weeks later, and stayed very lean and grew up to around 8-10 weeks out...???

i have bro though the shows were eons ago lol. I for one believe in staying lean and just adding a pound here or there of lean muscle mass not just from one show to another a couple months away but i always try to stay lean year round, so yeah i believe you can grow into a show for sure and i also think you have he body type for this as well as it seems the shorter guys are the ones who seem to add 50lbs off season while the somewhat taller guys can stay lean and add pure muscle maybe im wrong, lol, but just seems that way to me

I definitely have a few times(even without supplementation) and I believe it is very possible, but as P said, I really think that you have to take in consideration body type- I am and endo- while I can put on 50-60 in the off cycle some of that is BF- I think I could very well gain , more slowly of course, if I stayed within the 20lb range. Definitely would be change in the diet plan, but it is very achievable. I think as I get older I may take this route-less stress on the body. I think I have one or two at least in me still so not ready to give up yet- just have to switch gears and allow more time to grow and prep.

I think it can be done, but only by someone who competes regularly, not once every few years. You know how your body responds to most everything and where you need to be at what point from the show. I believe Nuk will also be able to do this next year when he competes. I hope that I will be able to in the coming years should I decide to continue competing.

Kevin Levrone grows into shows.....also i've talked to Flavio Bacciannini about his training when he was a pro....he'd only train 6 months each year so he would grow into a show as well and it worked for him....he did emphasize that it was a Very very intense 6 months though

absolutley, this is what everyone did in the 60's and 70's......look at them all offseason they were beanstalks but then would grow into the show to be massive

I'm growing quite nicely now, but I'm coming back from an injury so that doesn't really count. I've only done a handful of shows and back so I haven't gotten the experience under my belt that some of you have
