Well I just did squats all the way to the ground and started out with light weight 135 and moved up to 185 and I did 10 sets of 10 with good form. My legs were so pumped I couldn't leave the gym for like 30 minutes and my ass kept cramping up like crazy. Knees made some awful noise but seemed to hold up just fine. I am still sore today and feel like this may be the ticket. I will gradually move up in weight and drop to like 4 or 5 sets and hope the knees hold up I dont think I could handle this twice a week. Hopefully this will spark some new growth.
