hey guy,

i have been expiriencing some very bad cramps in my quads for the past two months. i expirience this feeling even when doing cardio.

my quad emediatley tightens up and will not move. i have to stop my work out and stretch it out, witch is very painful, and takes me along time to remove the feeling.

i train high volume high intensity. i drink plenty of water and take lots of vitamins and minerals. i cant figure the problem out.

this only happens at the gym when im training. its gotten so bad i havent train legs in two weeks, but it continues with cardio.

its a tight lock up feeling. its painful. and almost feels like both quads are fixing to tear or something of that sort.

has anybody else expirienced this? if so, i would really appreciate any help fixing this problem. im scheduled for some deep tissue massage, but i dont think its gonna help.

any suggestions?

I cant say this has happened to me but maybe you should just give it a small break.. and change up what you are doing.

Keep your high intensity but maybe drop the volume a little... id say if your not doing so already do quite a few light warmup sets with loads of stretching before you get into your working sets .. see if that helps...

Your not on Clen by any chance are you ? cos that used to happen to me while on Clen.

no clen, i stop winstrol a month ago, im trying to put some weight on. i am giving it a break right now, but ill try doing low volume. light weight, im definetly stretching every day.

I recently got them at night. My legs have been getting stronger, but I don't do alot of sets. I had my hamstring do it, then my quad. I started screaming. I'm not doing anything different. I wish I had an answer. Maybe try glycerol.

I'd say it's 1 of two things. either you glcygen levels are of, or your sodium levels are to low. Since you said you stopped taken winny about a month ago, it could be both. Remember when you are trying to add size your glycogen levels have to be up there and your sodium. Start eatting more apple sauce for your glycogen since it really replenishes your glycogen stores pretty quick. For sodium, try drinking gatorade or powerade during your training. That should make a big diff. Hope this helps hommie....

thanks bro, i will do just that. i used to eat alot of apple sauce with my oat meal, and stopped through out the summer. i got kinda of obsessed with getting shredded. ill add it in again, and the gatorade. im trying to add size again, i feel fat, but i know its in my head.

I always feel the same way bulking, I just feel like a fat ass and it's kinda depressing, but we're always our own worst critic

it just means your busting your ass finally. I cramp after every leg day, every one! Because I go heavy and lots of reps and sets. Its just your body trying to slow you down. Keep at it!

You might want to try a potassium supplement before training legs and before doing whatever it is that cramps your legs, if they dont cramp up then you know what the problem was.

Also I know lactic acid buildup makes some people cramp up realy bad, and some guys will drink a small cup of water and baking soda to prevent this, but i think thats a bit extreme but then again your issue sounds extreme

I would definatly try potassium before anything else bro

I would also get my bloodwork done as it could be any number of imbalances which are either easy fixes or not easy fixes.

thanks guys^^^^ today is legs, im gonna do my leg work out backwards today, to see how my quads act after doing hams first, ill deffinatley apply everything you guys are telling me.

my legs have been growing in size and strength faster than any other body part, i think nuk is absolutley right, im a high volume leg dude, but ive been playing around with some pritty decent weights lately before this started happening. my squats before this started happening were 12 solid reps with 405. 315 for 20 reps 225 for 25 reps and 135 for 25 reps. in a pyremid style, then back down for a triple drop on my last set with 405.

ive never been this strong and my confedence was at an all time high. then BAM! some shit always has to happen. but oh well its ok.

thanks again guys

How'd did it go bro?

i did legs wednesday, it went ok. i started with hamstrings first. i hit leg press and front squats on the smith machine for quads. i did really high reps, they still cramped pritty bad during my work out but not as bad as before. i stretched through out the work out. it helped alot. i missed my message opt. i had some scheduling conflics, but this week is a new week and im already feeling better in the legs so im happy we'll see what happens.

I cant say I ever had them cramp during a workout but def post workout. I went to the movies one day after doing legs and when the movie went off i couldnt stand, i actually had to have people help me walk out. Ive started eating alot of sweet potatoes since and havent gotten them quite as bad.
