I havent watched ufc in awhile but I think im gonna try to watch this one. I think this will be a good one.

Yeah, just hope it last more than 49 seconds.

Wife and I are going to a friends to watch it. Should be a good fight.

I really want to see Silva lose. I think so many of his wins are garbage. Sonnen literally beat himself twice or that Maia fight was quite possible the worst "fight" I've ever seen in my life. I've never heard a crowd boo so much in my life.damn forrest looked like a drunk slob, took one shot to the face and got up and ran out of the ring. wtf

I've hated Silva ever since I saw him fight Henderson in Columbus and he wouldn't touch gloves. That to me showed how much of an arrogant ass he is and I've wanted to see him lose ever since

Weidman has the tools to beat him. I like silva for his greatness. Winning all of his fights in the ufc is amazing. In a sport like mma its hard not to fet caught everynow and then, especially with 4 ounce gloves. I agree the maia fight was terrible. Yes he almost lost to sonnen but he didnt, that in itself is impressive. Its not like he held onto the belt because the judges gave him a few facovorable decisions. He has very few decisions at all. Gsp, has almost All decisions and rarely puts himself in danger because he just looks to get the 50-45 win. Win u try and finish people and do thats impresive. He has some watered down wins for sure. James irvin and stephen bonner. But he beat irvin in like 45 seconds and he played with bonner till he decided to end it. Forrest was a champ at a higher weight and silva made him look like a "drunk". Jon jones may surpass him and his greatness. But he has many years to go.

Id like to see him lose too, he seems kinda cocky but I guess he does have a right to be being undefeated.

his greatest tool is his reach and accuracy in striking. IMO accuracy isn't practiced enough by most fighters. that alone right there will make up for power to a point. you can hit a guy twice as hard in the wrong spot with no result or half as hard in the right spot and KO.

I won't deny he's a good fighter, but I'm sick of his attitude and want to see someone knock his teeth out. I don't think a Silva/GSP fight will even be enjoyable to watch because GSP isn't what he once was, now he's boring as hell to watch and Silva would probably knock him out in a couple rounds. Jon Jones would probably be the best fight to watch, but I'll take this Weidman fight and see what happens. Hopefully he can beat Silva, but I don't really see it happening

agree 100%. I think Jones would murderface Silva. he's got all Silva's top qualities but better imo.

I should want Weidman to win, but I like to see Silva keep going on this tear

And that's what you get Anderson. I wish Weidman would have taunted him after he knocked his ass out

Finally someone had the reach to get to him after he taunted them. Anderson did that too MANY people and none had the reach to get to his chin when he was backing up and finally he ran into someone who did and that's what happens

lol you guys are tough on Silva.

I think it's important to remember that these guys are encouraged to adopt personas to raise interest and increase viewership. For the most part, it's a marketing ploy. The UFC, under Dana White, promotes these fights in much the same way as professional wrestling--bad guy vs. good guy, etc. However, most the fighters share mutual respect for one another outside the facade, both personally and professionally. Do you ever notice how these guys most often hug and exchange (kind) words at the end of the fight? Same thing happens in the post-fight press conferences.

In any case, great fight card. I was stoked to see Weidman come out to Tom Petty!

Fuck Silva, I don't care if that is a marketing ploy or not, to not touch gloves in numerous fights is just being a cocky prick. Yes, he will show respect (in most instances) post fight, but I still can't stand him and although he is a great fighter, I personally was waiting for the day someone finally caught him while he was being cocky in the octagon.

The way he started to act like an overly cocky prick (hands down taunting Weidman) started to piss me off because I've seen him do that too many times. Generally afterwards he just ends up knocking the opponent out. This time it finally caught up to him.

Silva is the all time best and everyone has a long ways to go to top him
