Just read on espn.com that GSP is okay and there's no serious damage to his retina! Ouchhhh though.

UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre expects to make a full recovery from a poke to his left eye which blurred his vision throughout much of a five-round title fight against Jake Shields in Toronto on Saturday.

Firas Zahabi, Greg Jackson and John Danaher -- trainers who cornered St. Pierre to victory in front of 55,724 fans in the Rogers Centre -- told ESPN.com that St. Pierre was released from the hospital the evening of the fight and, according to doctors, he avoided any retinal damage. St. Pierre, 29, confirmed that news via his official Twitter page on Sunday.

Immediately after the bout, St. Pierre said he lost vision at some point during Round 2. Jackson and Danaher suggested a severe eye poke by Shields caused the damage.

St. Pierre's vision became worse as the fight played out, to the point that he could not see at all out of the eye in the fourth and fifth rounds, Danaher said.

Jackson texted that he was "proud" of St. Pierre "for fighting one- eyed."

Danaher, also by text, said St. Pierre "cannot see out of it yet."

The trainers said it will be 5-10 days before St. Pierre's vision clears and bleeding in the eye, which Danaher called "heavy," will subside.

St. Pierre, the No. 2 pound-for-pound fighter in MMA according to ESPN.com, intended to travel to Manhattan and train with Danaher at the Renzo Gracie jiu-jitsu academy on Monday, however he is prohibited from training for two weeks.

"Doctors said if he trains it will worsen the bleeding inside the eye," said Danaher, St. Pierre's Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor of more than 10 years. "He will resume training when normalcy returns."

If the Aldo fight hadn't been there, I would've been disappointed in the card

come on now the Machida kick wasnt enough? or Vladamir's quick ko? I was pretty happy and I knew the GSP fight was going every round no matter who won

They were nice to see, but they weren't great fights, just nice endings. I love fights like the Bonnar/Griffin 1 fight and the Aldo fight, those make the PPV worth buying to me

Right, a good ending is not the same as a good fight. The Aldo fight was about the only really good fight of the night. I thought Aldo was gassed in the third and would not survive to the end, but he showed a lot of heart. And Hominick showed tremendous heart by keeping on with that huge knot on his head.

Yea both of them showed great hearts. Either could be proud to be a champion. They put up a great fight. One of the most entertaining fights from start to finish I've seen in a while
