Weight gainers... do you or dnt you

now and days you see more and more weight gainers on the market, and the more you see the more questions im asked about them...

do they work?
do they add quality muscle?
do they taste good?

ive never been to fond of them simply because id rather eat my carbs than drink them. but when bulking hard sometimes food is pretty hard to put down every 2 hrs. do i believe they work ? YES, but it depends on what type you buy and the carbs in them.

i recently tried cyto sports Cytogainer, not too bad tasteing but what i like about it is the fact the carbs arent quick digesting... their slow digesting.


what types do you guys use/like/perfer ?:flex:
 
I havent tryed any weight gainers in many many years, so not sure how they work today or whats in them these days, but i do know about twelve years ago i use to buy Joe Weider weight gain, it was a big giant bag of weight gainer, like the size of the giant bags of dog food you buy, i mean this thing was like 25lbs or more,lol, and it was PURE sugar,lol,
 
Honestly bro Ive never used weight gain. Maybe along time ago instant breakfast, but that was the extent of it. I prefer solids and complex carbs
 
pro complex gainer banana cream pie mixed with skim milk is heaven in a glass with crumpled up graham crackers in it. Holy fuck i loved that stuff. I dont need weight gainers but if i did id go through like 2 pounds of that stuff a week.
 
BSN Tru mass is really good. And if u order through Amazon u can get 2 tubs for under 60 bucks.
I have had some real solid lean gains on it.
I highly recommend giving it a try.
 
Maybe it has to do with each individuals metabolism, but those weightgainers were a waste for me. Red meat.... nothing tops it for size, strength, weight gain, and a sense of well being. At least for me.

AMEN TO THAT !! Steak (lean cuts obviously) are the best of the best.. it's kinda weird isn't it?? We need to eat the muscles of another living thing to gain muscles ourselves??

But, yes some of those weight gainers TASTE DELISH!! As far as their claims for making you jacked, haha... yah umm no..

I think though they would be somewhat beneficial to early lifters.. I.E- Puberty- College years.. since AAS aren't an option and trying to choke down 6-7 meals per day with School, and an after-school job would be a very daunting task and eventually overwhelming, this would give them the EXTRA CALORIES they would need to start adding on some substantial size.. JMHO.
 
I think they have their place, for say ecto's that have to eat like 5 to 6k cals a day if you eating clean thats a shitload of food. A gainer shake or two really helps out. Its not magic but its more calories which is what they need.

I make my OWN . not the sugar filled low qulity bullshit thats makes up most "gainers" on the shelf.

only "powder" i buy is iso-whey then it begins.

1 banana
4 tbs of peanutbutter
2X 30g scoops of oatmeal
4 30G scoops of whey protein
1 30g scoop of dextros

fill up with milk or water and blend up.
this is 2 servings

buddy of mine back in the day was a hard ass gainer, he would put everything in a blender and blend it up lol.
PB, icecream, chocolate, banana's, oatmeal, protein, serious mass, mashmallows, and im sure im missing over 5 ingredients lol. He broke it down one time it was like 3k cals in one shake f'in nuts. He did pack on some mass that year though
 
To tell the truth, I actually dig GNC's generic-ass gainer. It actually tastes really good to me and I believe helped me break through my 215lb wall. I now weigh 240.
 
I would blow up like a blimp on something like that. It would seem they should taste good since they aren't calorie restricted though. Sounds like GS is making himself hungry/a.k.a. Banana Cream Pie boy.
 
I use the BSN mass gainer and protien blend sometimes but mainly stick to real food. I have put on more weight in the last few months with food and havent touched a shake and don't get that bloated feeling.

Oh man that stuff is soooooo damn good. It litterally taste like you put the entire pie in a blender and are drinking it now. Thats why i threw some grahm crackers in there too so i could get the crust as well :).
