The big island is definately a great place to go.. I mean O'ahu {island where Honolulu is located} is fun, but the big island has lots of places to explore.

I try hard to keep flexible by stretching, meditating & exercising to keep stress from affecting me through the year, but there's nothing like running away from it all for awhile.

Although I did get a lil stressed when I saw lava *lol*

I like your avatar! I learned to surf while I was away.
Well, I suppose it was more like I learned how to stand up on a board for a few seconds & it was thrilling to get that far anyway.
Do you surf?

Yeah iam learning to surf i live in melbourne fl surfing is big down here you can surf all year round lots a places to go from coco
beach down to vero beach nice waves.You have a ron jon surf shop up there also we got one in coco 20min north of here
i bought a 7ft 18in board used one $300.00 its tuff but hang in there.If your ever heading down this way look me up well hit the waves....

Actually, I spent alot of time watching the surfers in hawaii leased: so I have a good understanding of how it's done..

I was a lil nervous flying over to the big island from honolulu by myself. It was the first time I've been somewhere for that length of time by myself.. I was on the big island for 2 weeks.
Alright, I'll admit it. I was scared at first *lol*
Yes, I had a chair in front of the triple locked door.

I made 'friends' with a couple of people online from Hilo & from Kona {opposite side of the island} and chatted with them for months before I went there, so I did eventually meet up with them when I started to look for people to hang out with.. and once I felt comfortable with my surroundings.
There was a woman in the condo next to me who took me under her wing & showed me around while her husband was off doing his thing for my first few days.
And I kept doing things with her because she was such a interesting person to be around.. plus she didn't mind doing touristy thingys with me
