Shaquille O’Neal Reveals His Diet Plan And Workout Routines

Shaquille O’Neal Reveals His Diet Plan And Workout Routines

Shaquille O’Neal is one of the best basketball players of all-time and has went through an incredible transformation.
Shaquille O’Neal is one of the best basketball players of all-time. The Hall-of-Fame center built a reputation for himself as a dominant player and is considered the most unstoppable player ever. Since he was in high school, O’Neal knew how to use his size and strength as an advantage and that continued in college at LSU. After putting together a legendary career, O’Neal has stayed motivated in keeping himself in shape.
Staying motivated in the gym might not be easy for some. It is a difficult lifestyle to keep up with — even for Shaq. In a recent interview, O’Neal discussed his diet plan and fitness goals. He also discussed that 2020 was a difficult year as he dealt with personal losses and an unhealthy lifestyle, to go along with a lack of motivation.
“You are what you repeatedly do.”
This quote is quick and to the point. It is the way Shaquille O’Neal began this interview before going into his eating habits while he was in the NBA. Shaq admitted that this diet is difficult and it was more fun when he was playing. O’Neal’s pregame meals consisted of two club sandwiches, French fries, and a pineapple soda. The incredible shape that O’Neal was able to stay in was because of his level of activity. Once he retired from basketball, it was difficult to keep up with these eating habits.
Now, Shaq has a go-to meal of salmon with lemon. For breakfast, he enjoys scrambled eggs, cheese, and turkey sausage. For lunch, it is either fish, chicken, or meatloaf. The reason for the change came after a visit to the doctor.
“I did something I never did before. I went to the doctor. The doctor used that three-letter word that you never want to hear. He said, ‘Do you want to die?’ I said, ‘No, I don’t want to die.’ He said, ‘ You’ve gotta change some things up’,” Shaq said.

Shaquille O’Neal has also added protein shakes into his routine. This consists of peanut butter, bananas, and blueberries. In the gym, Shap does not follow a specific structure. Instead, he is in the gym for an hour each day, where he trains cardio and weights. O’Neal did admit that biceps was his favorite workout because of the pump that he feels. His least favorite part — running. O’Neal played a long career and it took a toll on his knees.
As for a fitness goal, Shaquille O’Neal kept it simple.
“The most challenging part about staying fit is – sometimes when you work as hard as I do, it gives you time to procrastinate and say I’ll do it tomorrow,” Shaq said.
“Fitness goal is just to have a flat belly. Right now I’ve got a 4.9-pack. I’ll probably bring it up to an eight-pack by March.”

Bodybuilder Paul Bashi sentenced to 14 years in prison for assault of woman

Bodybuilder Paul Bashi sentenced to 14 years in prison for assault of woman

Paul Bashi was charged with attempted murder and torture after attack on his current wife.
Paul Bashi, a bodybuilder from Macomb County in Michigan, was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Wednesday following the assault of a woman, who is now his wife.
Bashi was caught on camera brutally attacking a woman back in 2018. He was arrested and charged with attempted murder and torture. Bashi, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced by Judge Joseph Toia. The case was supposed to be heard at 8:30 a.m. but it lasted most of the day. Bashi claimed he did not feel well and even passed out. He was brought into court in a wheelchair about two hours later.
The attorney for Bashi even tried arguing for a new prosecutor and new judge because they claimed Toia was biased. Neither worked and the hearing was able to go on.
“I don’t doubt for a minute that you’re not the same person that was in that house and on that porch on that particular day some three years ago,” said Judge Joseph Toia. “Despite all your issues, you are not the victim in this case. You’re not. Despite everything, we heard here today. It is the people, the state of Michigan that brought this case. You are not. I know you’ve been the focus, but you’re not the victim in this case.”
Paul Bashi’s wife, the woman who he assaulted back in 2018, took the stand and spoke in favor of her husband. She claimed that the bodybuilder has changed and has been taking the proper steps of recovery.
“Judge Toia, the court has only seen the bad side of Paul. Since he’s been released, every day he shows me he is a changed man. He realizes his mistake and has changed for the better. He goes to counseling, anger management classes and domestic violence all on his own,” she said.

Judge Toia agreed that he might not be the same person but still handed down a proper sentence. Despite Bashi’s wife speak, the prosecutor went over the details of the attack and just how disturbing it was.
“Heartless judge, sadistic – 107 punches, 85 kicks, 28 stabs, four knives used for those 28 stabs I might add. Dozens, dozens of bludgeons,” the prosecutor said.
Paul Bashi is also facing an additional 93 days in prison for an assault on his uncle, who posted his bond. Bashi’s uncle was arranging to post a $1million bond that Bashi was held on. He learned that Paul Bashi was planning to leave town and potentially flea to Mexico ahead of sentencing. After confronting his nephew, Bashi’s uncle was assaulted and this old bring some additional jail time.

Talking Huge | EP 23: The Iranian Hulk Gets Mad At Craig Golias & Generation Iron

Talking Huge | EP 23: The Iranian Hulk Gets Mad At Craig Golias & Generation Iron

[embedded content]

The Iranian Hulk reacts to Craig Golias’ statements from our previous episode. Now Craig responds back.
Welcome to another episode of Talking Huge – a weekly digital series in which Craig Golias talks in-depth with Vlad Yudin on the latest trending topics in bodybuilding. Raw, honest, and uncut – Craig Golias shares his opinions on all things bodybuilding. In this episode, Craig Golias follows up on his comments about the Iranian Hulk – who took offense to Craig’s statements. Craig also makes his picks for the best bodybuilders in different categories of 2021.
Last week on Talking Huge, Craig Golias shared his thoughts on the upcoming boxing match between the Iranian Hulk and Martyn Ford. Specifically, Craig stated that he believes the Iranian Hulk’s physique is photoshopped. His waist, in particular, appears to be too narrow for such a massive hulking frame. Craig assumed that by the time we see him in the boxing ring – we would get a better idea of his physique. Knowing this, Craig also seems confident that the boxing match will never happen and be cancelled last minute.
The Iranian Hulk saw Craig Golias’ comments and took offense to this – claiming he was being harassed on the Talking Huge podcast. Is a beef forming between Craig Golias and Iranian Hulk? Golias doesn’t seem to want to engage too far into the argument. Upon hearing about the Iranian Hulk’s offense – Craig had this to say on the matter.
“We didn’t harass him. He needs to relax… I wasn’t harassing him. I don’t harass anybody bro. I’m one of the most chill guys out there… I don’t know man, does he want to fight me? Because I’m a lover not a fighter.”
Vlad Yudin also agreed, stating that they were just having some fun and he was surprised that of all people to get offended by Craig Golias and Generation Iron – he never thought it would be the Iranian Hulk.

Craig Golias then doubled down on his original statement, saying that he still thinks that the boxing match will get cancelled last minute. With a date in April 2022 approaching fast – we’ll soon find out.
Craig Golias’ Picks For Best Bodybuilders Of 2021
Craig Golias and Vlad Yudin also discuss the ongoing Bodybuilding Awards 2021 that is running currently via Generation Iron. The awards are an opportunity for the fans to vote on the best athletes across 15 different categories. Vlad runs by a few of the highlight categories and nominees past Craig to see what his vote would be.
Below are Craig Golias’ picks for the best bodybuilders across different criteria:

Best Back: Akim Williams
Best Arms: Tie between Brandon Curry, Nick Walker, and Michal Krizo
Best Guru: Tie between Dennis James and Milos Sarcev
Best Up-And-Comer: Nick Walker
Best Legs: Tie between Derek Lunsford, Nick Walker, and Big Ramy
Best Male Athlete: Chris Bumstead

Women’s Bodybuilding And Popularity Of Different Divisions
Craig Golias and Vlad Yudin also touch upon the topic of the growing divisions in the IFBB and NPC. Not only has the Wellness division officially entered the Olympia weekend – but Women’s Bodybuilding has also been making a comeback over the past few years. Craig discusses how the division should never have been abandoned – and how femininity should never come into the equation when discussing caliber of physiques in judging.
Craig also shares his thoughts on which division is most popular. Could Men’s Open ever be overtaken as the number one highlight of the sport? Craig is absolutely confident that Men’s Open will remain number one and thinks that the talk of Classic Physique overtaking it will never happen.
He does acknowledge that some divisions are more popular in terms of registered athletes. Classic Physique, Men’s Physique, and Bikini all have a very large number of registered competitors – especially in the amateur division. But when it comes to the audience, Craig remains steadfast that Men’s Open will remain supreme.
Wrap Up

WATCH: TikTok Video Shows ‘Gym Creep’ Assisting Woman Without Consent

WATCH: TikTok Video Shows ‘Gym Creep’ Assisting Woman Without Consent

A recent video has cause a stir after a man is seen following a woman around the gym.
A recent video posted to TikTok has caused quite a stir after a man is seen assisting a woman with a lift without her permission. In the video, the man approaches the barbell and grabs one side of it, which causes trouble with balance. What was not seen in the video was the man following the TikToker around the gym.
The video was shared by “Smalls” (@dezsquats). She claims that the man was following her as she was doing her workouts prior to him approaching her on the bench. Not only is this a strange and invasive procedure by the man, it was dangerous. He grabs one side of the bar, not the middle like usually done when spotting, and this could have caused the lifter to lose control and drop the weight.
““I thought I lost this video. This man had been following me around the gym trying to “help” me my entire lift. ? reasons I need a fucking home gym.” The TikToker shared.”
This video currently has over 2.6 million viewed and 385,000 likes. Despite the fact that the man stepped over the line, there are commenters that have tried to come to his rescue and provide a defense. Some have brought up her form when bench pressing and the fact that she racks one side at a time. The TikToker made a follow-up video claiming that she has to re-rack like this because she is smaller, not because she is struggling.

This is not the only follow-up that she had made. “Smalls” explained how there was not any interaction with the man following the strange encounter and that she no longer goes to that gym.
“There’s no story. He was following me around the gym, and I just went off and told him not to touch my fucking bar.”
“He never tried to defend himself or anything. He kind of just got scared and went back to doing whatever workout he was doing.”
Not only could this have cause injury, it continues to show why some women do not feel comfortable in a gym setting. This is an instant where action should have been taken against the man — and one commenter agreed.
“As a gym attendant, if you showed me this video he would have his membership revoked that day and you would be escorted out at the end of your sesh,” one TikTok commenter said.

Victor Martinez Reacts: Has Hafthor Bjornsson’s Weight Loss Gone Too Far?

Victor Martinez Reacts: Has Hafthor Bjornsson’s Weight Loss Gone Too Far?

[embedded content]

Victor Martinez reacts to Hafthor Bjornsson’s insane weight loss and shred.
Hafthor Bjornsson used to be best known as a powerhouse strongman and as “The Mountain” in Game Of Thrones. But perhaps now he is getting most attention for his turn towards boxing – and the massive amount of weight he’s shredded off in the process. The transformation has certainly turned a lot of heads, but there are also bodybuilding and strongman fans who are less excited about seeing his signature size downgrade. Some even believe that he has taken the weight loss too far. In our latest GI Exclusive, Victor Martinez reacts to Hafthor Bjornsson’s weight loss and also to fan complaints about his transformation.
Victor Martinez is no stranger to getting negative attention for massive weight loss. Much earlier in his pro bodybuilding career, Martinez was incarcerated. This prevented him from maintaining his bodybuilding lifestyle fully. He dramatically lost weight and had trouble getting back to proper size in his first year upon being released. That struggle was captured in part during the filming of our original Generation Iron documentary.
So we thought Victor Martinez would be the perfect person to ask about the recent developments with Hafthor Bjornsson. The situations are different but the outcome is the same. Bjornsson decided to retire from strongman and turn to boxing. More specifically to fight fellow strongman Eddie Hall. This has yet to happen due to Hall suffering some injuries. Meanwhile, Bjornsson has stuck the course and committed to other boxing matches as he continues to improve.
As part of this change in career, Hafthor Bjornsson decided to trim down and get much more conditioned. He understood that his massive size was not best suited for winning boxing matches. But some fans are upset with just how small he’s become – especially compared to Eddie Hall. Hall had lost weight as well – but mostly maintained his larger size while also gaining conditioning.

Victor Martinez believes that bodybuilding and strongman fans are coming only from a selfish place when they criticize Bjornsson. In fact, Martinez is convinced that Bjornsson’s weight loss is not only best for his boxing career – but healthier for his overall future. Bodybuilding and strongman fans don’t care as much about his boxing exploits – and are looking at his physique only through their subjective lens of the sports of bodybuilding ands strongman.
There’s nothing wrong with this exactly. But Victor Martinez wants fans to understand that Hafthor Bjornsson is in a new stage of his life and career. This statement matches something Jujimufu stated to us in a previous GI Exclusive interview as well. If Bjornsson can succeed as a boxer – he will always still have his former legacy as a successful strongman. Losing the weight does not reduce his legacy. In fact, succeeding in two different sports is an even better lifetime legacy. If he can also improve his overall health during the process – that’s even better still.
So what is Victor Martinez’s overall reaction to Hafthor Bjornsson’s transformation? He’s impressed. That kind of transformation and dedication to conditioning is not easy. And was the smart thing to do for his health and his boxing future. Martinez may be a bodybuilder at heart – but he can appreciate the hard work and results of someone else on their own separate journey.
You can watch Victor Martinez’s full comments on Hafthor Bjornsson’s physique transformation in our latest GI Exclusive interview segment above!

Shaun Clarida Shares Big Chest And Triceps Workout

Shaun Clarida Shares Big Chest And Triceps Workout

Shaun Clarida provides a workout ahead of the 2022 Olympia.
Shaun Clarida has started preparing for the 2022 Olympia — and for good reason. The former Olympia 212 champion earned qualification to the biggest event of the year after winning the 2021 Legion Sports Fest in the Open division. Now, Clarida is sharing some of his workouts to get in championship shape.
Clarida finished second to Derek Lunsford in this year’s Olympia. Many considered Clarida to be the favorite but he ended up with a silver medal. Following the event, Clarida announced that he would test himself in the Open division but would not be leaving 212. After a victory, it is clear that he can compete and will continue. Clarida has expressed interest in competing in both divisions during the Olympia but it is unknown if that is allowed. It is also unknown which division Clarida will be apart of.
The 2022 event in Las Vegas is exactly one year away. Many athletes have begun training and sharing some workouts. Shaun Clarida recently shared a massive chest and triceps workout to his YouTube page.
Clarida’s day began with a quick calf exercise. He explained that this was an area that needed to be improved and this is how he is beginning workouts. Clarida performed three sets of standing calf raises on a machine before getting into chest work.

Chest Workout
Hammer Strength Incline Press
Shaun Clarida began the workout with hammer strength incline press. He explained that this is one of the main exercises that he performs and even uses dumbbells on compound days. The machine will work muscles in a similar way. Clarida performs three sets totaling between 10-12 reps and finishes with a back-off set, which is usually 10-15 reps.
“For those who don’t know what the back-off set is, it’s when you finish your last heavy set, you do one more set. There, you increase the weight by, I think like, 16 percent of what you just did,” Clarida explained.
Incline Barbell Pin Press
This variation was attributed to Clarida’s late coach John Meadows. It is a more explosive version of an incline press. Clarida has been focusing on his upper chest area and this is a lift that can help. He performs two sets of 8-12 reps with progressive overload. Clarida likes to do upper chest early in the workout to get the best results possible.
Seated Chest Press Cable Machine
Shaun Clarida performed two sets of 8-12 reps on this machine before deciding to add a third. He was going to stop but admitted that this did not challenge him enough. Clarida added plates onto the machine weight and performed a third set. This provided the necessary pump before moving on.
Dips
Dips are an exercise that can work either chest or triceps — or both. When leaning forward, this exercise focuses on the chest muscles. This is what Clarida was looking for an completed a continuous set of 30 reps to failure.
Incline Chest Flyes Cable Machine
This was Shaun Clarida’s final chest workout of the day. He used D-handles because the diameter of the handle is smaller towards the thumb and gets wider. This is so the athlete can eliminate sing forearm strength for a firmer grip. Clarida performs two sets of 12-15 reps to finish his chest workout.
Triceps
Rope Pull-Downs
Pull downs are a great way to get the triceps going early in the workout and this is how Clarida began. He performed three sets of 8-15 reps. He explained that ropes provide extra movement and because of this, the triceps are hit harder. Clarida does not train arms on their own day in the offseason. He adds triceps to chest day and biceps to back.
Standing Overhead Dumbbell Extensions
Shaun Clarida finished his day with three sets of 8-12 reps with progressive overload. He said this was one of his favorite workouts for triceps because of the work that it does.
“You put more stress in the triceps in a straight position but also a really good contraction at the top.”

Lesman Paredes Montaño Wins 2021 World Championships, Sets New Snatch World Record

Lesman Paredes Montaño Wins 2021 World Championships, Sets New Snatch World Record

Lesman Paredes Montaño had quite a day during the 2021 World Championships.
The 2021 IWF World Championships took place on Dec. 14 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and one powerlifter showed up to make an impact. Lesman Paredes Montaño took home the gold during the event and set a new snatch world record in the process.
Paredes Montaño began his day by completing a 187kg (412.3lb) snatch. This set a new world record in the 96kg division. This came during his second attempt after the first lift came in at 180kg (396.8lb). Paredes Montaño made a big jump in his second attempt to break the record. This was a huge reason he was able to win the overall event.

In snatch, Paredes Montaño finished 15kg (33.1lb) above the second-plan finisher. This propelled him to victory after the clean & jerk set him back a bit. During this lift, Paredes Montaño logged a 213kg (469.6lb) lift. This was nine kilograms less than the second-place finisher from the event. The world record snatch was enough to win the title.
After this performance during the IWF World Championships, Lesman Paredes Montaño is beginning to separate himself in the 96kg division. This can be completely done if he improves in the clean & jerk, which is clearly his weakest of the two lifts.

Lesman Paredes Montaño took to Instagram to celebrate his recent achievement.
“First, thank God for this triumph world championship and world record. Thank my initiation coach Harry Daniel Dominguez who made me have the love for this sport, to my current coaches for being a coach and give me the confidence to face these international events.”

Paredes Montaño has taken great strides since making his return. In 2015, the powerlifter was performing well as a junior weightlifter. In 2021, this was the second victory for Paredes Montaño to go along with the 2021 Pan American Weightlifting Championship. During this event, he performed in the 102kg weight class.

Lesman Paredes Montaño has taken huge steps in weightlifting this year. There is no doubt that he has established himself and knows where he needs to improve. If he can make these changes heading into 2022, there could be some more records that are conquered.
