Well for the past 2-3 weeks I have been fighting some horriable elbow pain (right elbow) I mean everytime I do chest, and triceps im fighting some killer pain, even into the next day (it feels like its swelling up) I take some pain meds for the pain and NSAID for the pain. But, honeslty it isnt doing much. Maybe some fish oils ? or what ? Im lost, I havnt had to fight this for years, and years now. Since my training is alot heavier now, I have been fighting this since my bodyfat has gone into single digets. What do you guys suggest ?

Chris where is the pain? Inside of the elbow like Tommy John? Front of the forearm or back of the elbow where the triceps are?

i had to stop skull crush for 5 months to heal mine but i didnt hurt when pressing. Im taking fishoil, osteobiflex(sp) and ghrp6 and deca to heal a shoulder though, i just stated a week ago i will let you know how it goes

I have had this. It mainly hurts during chest and triceps movements. You will have to lighten up the weight alot, until it goes away. I know I hurt mine doing skull crushers with 175lbs. Just train smarter.

I always drastically up my fishoils when I'm dieting. I also use DMSO on areas like that. This time I also be using IGF through my whole prep to hopefully prevent this.

yeah, I have been looking it up...I think its avaliable, from a sponsor...and there is a hrt doctor that gets it to

dont get cortisone... Let us know if one of the sponsors has it, My friend got it from some site

I agree with no cortisone shots and I don't know much about the aflutop so I can't speak for it. Have u ever thought about autologous blood injections. It's when a doc will take some blood out of your unaffected arm, spin it down to get platelet rich blood which will help heal tendons and ligaments, then inject your own blood into the center of the injury. I'll post some more on it later tongiht, but it might be worth trying. I've seen it work with several people.

sounds expensive alflutop is like 59

I don't know how much a doc charges to do it, but I am pretty sure it's covered by insurance however I bet they'll charge more than the $59. I have even seen some that don't centrifuge it down and just inject the blood into the area of tendinitis or tendinosis. The theory is that tendons and ligaments have very poor blood supply so they don't heal well, then they get lots of microtears and inflammation and you're screwed for a few weeks at the very least. But with this you get all of the platelets normally in blood plus other things will help recruit more healing cells to the area.

But it's just a thought if other things don't work out - I have heard of some people being much better within a week or two and unlike cortisone shots this doens't slow down the inflammation but speeds it up so that the body can heal the problem.

I will do some reading on aflutop tonight, thanks for the info

its a condition commonly called tennis elbow, to be honest i couldnt help you truly without seeeing it and having you do some tests but this is what i think of how your describing it. I treat this alot. You basically overdid the muscles and tendons so heres my recomendations bro use it how you will:I work at the training center and we also see it in golfers. If you go see a dr he wwill tell you you injured the Lateral epicondylitis follow the RICE principle
Rest: You need to rest it take some time off from heavy weights this is not a bad thing and will help it heal instead of requiring more drastic measures
ICE:Try a cold compresssion wrap to reduce the inflammation for 20 min every day Compression: with this on or even use an ice pack wrapped in a towel and use an ace bandage over it. Elevation: Sit with your arm elevated about shoulder high on a char or arm of a couch or somewhere elevated while you do this. You want to do this to allow the veins to return to normal and allow blood flow to reduce swelling.
This should be phase 1 on phase 2 Stretching
Gentle stretching exercises including wrist flexion, extension and rotation. The elbow should be extended and not flexed to increase the amount of stretch as required. These stretches should be held for 20-30 seconds and repeated 5-10 times, at least twice a day. Vigorous stretching should be avoided - do not stretch to the point of pain that reproduces your symptoms
You want to do this for a week because the longer you feel it for the longer rehab can be, i have seen it take up to 3 months.
Try some minor excercise
standing take a bar in the opposite hand and reach over with the hurt elbow and bring up to chest high slightly bend the elbow to the left and right (this is like fake driving a video game ors showing someone how to turn a wheel with both hands on...get the just of it)
Slowly twist your wrists forward and backwards where you dont feel pain-only do this after the pain decreases and you have done the rest for a week.
I have been there too and this really does help, if i would have continued and diddnt rest and do these i would have had a sling and immobile for 2 weeks then the rest done for a few weeks, this should reduce any loss in training time, and as always listen to your body and if it hurts stop.
hope this helps you.

I would go with the Alflutop and lighten the weight like Nuk said. I have also had that same pain and had to stop doing skullcrushers completely. After that once I lightened up and let it heal, it hasn't been back.

Sounds like tennis elbow/tendonitus, just rest and time is all i know to truely help it heal.
And I know you know better then to get a cortisone shot for tennis elbow, lol, so im sure i dont have to tell you to disregard that suggestion

way more than a theory and sadly I know all about how lonbg it takes tendons to heal.... very very slowwwwwww

yup my friend does 1600 pounds on leg press and it helped his joints so...
skull crushers cause the most amount of injuries in the gym, they are off my list after the 7000 dollar out of pocket surgery bc of them

Be careful bro for sure. I was fighting biceps tendonitis for some time and once it finally healed, I thought it came back, but it turned out that the new pain which I thought was tendonitis turned out to be a stress fracture which in turn led to a double fracture in my humerus. I don't think this will happen to you if the pain is strictly in the elbow, but just be careful with it and don't overlook it
