It's taking a lot longer to get back in shape then I anticipated!

Well I have been back in the gym for I guess close to 4 weeks and I honestly thought I would be back to where I left off by now. I guess I didn't take into consideration I'm getting older and it's just not as easy as I thought it would be.

I sat on my couch for many many many months in pain and lost a lot of muscle but I still thought I would be good to go after four weeks ,lol guess not.

Don't get me wrong I have made great strides considering how badly hurt I was but fuck me if it ain't taking longer then I thought.

You know what's worse, is I see a lot of new guys in the gym some in decent shape walking around like they just won the Mr O lol, and I think to myself "you have no idea" and they see me and prolly think I'm new lol since I haven't been in there for a long while. Not that I really give a flying fuck what they think of me , it's just I get so irritated at how some of them walk around in half ass shape and think they look fabulous. Actualy it's only one or two guys I never seen before , I don't want any of the regulars who read MC to think I am talking about them lol. Not that I give a fuck about you guys either.

I also see a lot of younger guys in my gym blowing the fuck up. GOD do I hate getting old.

Anyhow I'm just surprised at how much longer it's taken me to get back to where I left off. I think a lot of then reason might be cause I started eating super clean when I started back and then gains are coming slow for that reason and I prolly should have come back eating loads of food and loads of carbs.

So yesterday I ate bread for the first time in weeks and got myself a big old baconator from Wendy's,lol. I watched my muscles fill up before my very eyes,lol


Alright I'm done ranting,lol, my birthday is in two days and I'll be 38 and I guess it's pissing me off

No there's plenty of pain still but not enough to make me sit around and get fatter,lol

I still need to get another epidural and if that doesn't help they are going to fuse my shit.
 
4 weeks isnt that long, give it some time man and dont push it too much with the injury
 
In the next 4-6 weeks you'll see more progress. Just keep at it, it took me a while to get all my strength back, but once it started coming, it came back in a rush

Yeah I don't even know if my strength is back or not as I haven't tried going heavy at all but my first week back I can tell you that one plate on each side of the bench felt like a ton to me,lol. It's gotten much easier and better but I haven't tried going heavy at all other then my legs i been hitting medium weight with great success surprisingly

I guess it's slow and steady wins the race like the tortoise and the hare lmao
 
well the differance was I had to add in more carbs and more fats! I was eating super clean when i came back for the first 4 weeks, but this last week or 2 i have upped my carbs and upped my fats and my body has changed tremendously! So yeah things are getting better and I have been hitting the weights slightly heavier with good success. Im guessing another 2 weeks and ill feel pretty good about where im at i guess,lmao

better then the spandex outfit you used to have. Seriously, I know what your saying but all of a sudden you look in
the mirror and say "there it is" -lol It does come back quick. Something you have probably heard too many times but
I will say again, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. Took me years to take that advice myself. If something hurts a little we can
press thru it but you will know that feeling if just dosent feel right. If it dont feel right then do something else.

Yeah I been feeling my body/ injury out pretty good and stop when it gets painful again but iv made great strides since posting this and since eating a lot less clean. As for my weight I'm 296
 
Shit, I'm sure the 296 is a lot better feeling than what you were when you started back

Yeah it does but I cheated like hell this past week my wife was off all week and I binged lol
