I have read several diff. opinions on this but was wondering what your take is???

I've heard that AAS increases the immunity system and then I've heard that it reduces it...

opinions?

I dont know seeing as I get sick either way.... I also take multi vitamins and zinc daily but still im coughing all sorts of shit up this am

I very rarely get sick so I can't tell you, but I haven't gotten sick while on so I can't say that it lowers it or I'd get sick.....Just pick your nose and eat it, that's the best immune system builder you can have lol

i've read that anabolics in moderate doses increase the activity of certain white blood cells causing them to become more "aggressive" towards viruses and bacteria in the body.
at higher doses they are known for decreasing the amounts of IgA, IgG, and IgM in the blood. IgA-G-M are protiens that circulate in the blood and act as antibodies. so fewer of these could lead to a decreased immune response. potentially making an injection abcess more likely if the anabolic dose is high enough....

i'll do some research to see if different doses have been studied.

As an untoward effect of chronic anabolic steroid use, immunologic alterations may be induced. To evaluate this possibility five commercially available steroids with various types of structural differences were studied in male Sprague-Dawley rats. Animals were divided into five groups and treated with testosterone (Group 1), testosterone propionate (Group 2), testolactone (Group 3), oxandrolone (Group 4), and stanozolol (Group 5). Androgenic anabolic steroids were administered daily, subcutaneously dissolved in oil, at a dose of 1.1 mg/kg. Immune alterations were assessed by skin-test responses to phytohemagglutinin. After five days of treatment (1.1 mg/kg/day) a significant immuno-suppression was observed with all groups. However, by day 10, groups 3, 4, and 5 showed an immuno-stimulation. Using oxandrolone as the model stimulant, serum testosterone levels were significantly suppressed, while castration abolished the stimulatory effect. These observations indicate that immune alterations do occur with anabolic steroids which are immuno-suppressive when the steroid nucleus is intact and immuno-stimulatory with nuclear alterations. It appears that these changes are associated with altered gonadal testosterone release.

My understanding has always been it boosts immune system unless you have been on gear for long periods of time and run urself down on steroids, but that's just what I always thought and I have no real basis for this

I have good and bad thinga about going to the gym to workout while sick too

so the verdict is still out, kind of like how tren effects the collagen levels-some studies say it decreases it others say it increases it

yeah its like everything else with immunity boosters one year they work the next its proven they dont work the next year they are proven to work its all bs

I have been under Dr supervision for the last three years plus and I have not gotten sick once. I'll feel the small side effects of a cold coming on and it will just go away. I used to get sick at least once a year. Now I dont.

I can't see how something that increases your bodies ability to repair itself can possibly have a negative effect on your immune system. The simple idea is fundamentally ridiculous. Overtraining yes. HIV positive people have been living decades longer due to the accepted and widely practiced use of AAS and they are afflicted with an immuno suppressive disease. BTW I'd like to add that my BP was 117 / 72 on my last visit to the Dr. I guess steroid use doesnt automatically correlate to high BP either.

this is a very good point here, never thought of this

as for the BP I think it depends on the person and what they are running/dosages

This is what I've always heard as well

and that's why they're illegal because they make a person healthy...

and that's why doctors and drug companies hate them because they can't make any money off them...

That's more or less it. If the government could make a profit off of it or control it like they do alcohol and tobacco, it'd be legal

oh they can tax it and make money off it, however, they make more money off of other drugs

so they keep it illegal
