Another Surgery Tomorrow

Usually u try to stagger the screws in a fashion that promotes strength. Immediatly after your surgery and immediatly after (5 wks) the hardware removal are the two times you are the most at risk for reinjury. If u smoke or chew it increases your risk of complications.
Im def curious to see ur xrays if u are comfortable with putting them up here.

Can you have a look at my x rays and let me know whats wrong?

Ok, finally got pics up of xrays pre surgery. And one pic of inside incision. I have another incision just like it on the outside. I really want to upload the xrays after repair. But this file is a pdf. I cannot figure out how to make it small enough. If someone knows how to do it, please let me know.

Hopefully i will be able to walk after christmas. Then it will be another year after that before i can use it like i did before. But i will always have limited movement. Only time will tell.

Damn man. I'm sorry to hear that. It always hits athletes the hardest. I wish you the best. I was given a poor prognosis on my knee last year, but other than a little nerve damage it recovered 100%. I'm back up to hitting 415lbs for some good reps on squats. My back is my main issue now. Getting older sucks man

I posted the pre op pics yesterday, here is the post op pic. I had to scan it from a piece of paper so its not the greatest.

From what you can see on this view it looks very well reduced back to where God once had it. Its hard to see the fracture callus because of the scanned image but from what you can see on this AP image it looks like it should heal. To be completely accurate you would need a lateral, oblique, and a mortise view. Im sure ur doc got them already. Im really glad he didnt fill the tibial plate with an over abundance of screws. In my opinion thats a no no but some old school guys seem to still do it.
Judging this view alone id say it looks great bro. I hope u continue to heal quickly

Is your incision still draining or dry? Sometimes they really can take a long time

My incisions healed great, no drainage. The incision on the outside (not shown) looks a liitle like an ass crack because of the swelling. I mislead you by sending this xray. This xray was taken same day of surgery. I dont have any copies of recent xrays. But i will be sure to get one next time i go. Thanks so much for looking at it.

wow looks like a serious ass FX, and Jpotch which one is the mortise view? to show the space?

A mortise view is slightly internally rotated with the foot plantar flexed. You may call it something different im not sure

Oh ok. Well glad ur incisions are looking good. And no prob i get off on this shit lol. Sad but true

it's been a while since I have taken those pix, but yeah I know what u mean not to have the malleolus' equal to see the space. looks like he fell from a 4 story bldg

IMO the view is too coned down for a post op, you cant even see the end of the hardware, but every place is different I suppose

the x-ray, you can 'cone-down' an image with the 'shields' in the x-ray tube so there is less radiation coming out= less pt exposure. But where I have orked if you dont have all the hardware in the pic, u need to get it
